Challenge

Week 8 - Challenge 3 - Switch Bezel Design

Aim:

To Create the Switch Bezel Plastic component through the given Class-A surface. To begin with, the tooling axis for the given Class-A Surface should be created meeting the requirements of the draft angle and at the end perform the Draft analysis on the model and to Take the Thickness of the component to be 2.5 mm

Procedure:

* Download the switch Bezel IGES part.

* The Class-A surface is obtained.

* Before that, Give Join command to join all the elements together, so that the single component will be obtained.

* Then, Give The Bisecting Line to create the Tooling axis, so that the tooling axis will be obtained in the symmetrical part of the surface.

* After Creating the Tooling Axis, Create the B-Surface.

* We have to EXTRACT and UNTRIM the Non-Filleted surfaces, So the trimmed surfaces are removed.

* Then, perform the EXTRAPOLATE to obtain the proper trim.

* Offset the elements to 2.5 mm thickness for creating B-Surface and Join them Together.

* Give the fillet to the edges, and make sure that the fillets should be the sum of radius and the thickness of the material.

* Create MULTIPLE EXTRACT on one side and Create another MULTIPLE EXTRACT on other side.

* Make sure that the CURVE SMOOTHEN is to be done to achieve proper curve.

* Give Sweep option to create the C-Surface, On both the extracts, with reference to the tooling axis, and join the surfaces together.

* Extrapolate the edges of the surfaces and trim them.

* Then, Trim the surfaces with Class B surfaces, so that the required surface is obtained.

* Join them with distance as 0.003mm so that the closed boundary do appear.

* Then make it as Part by going to PARTBODY>>Closed Surface, so that the Part body will be shown.

* Perform the Draft Analysis in the Part.
