1. 1. Write the steps involved to upload a .std file through web mail?
-open staad pro
-go to locate and share option avilable on introduction screen
-after clicking on share button ,select
mail option
-browse file in .std file and send.
2. Name the different materials that
can be designed using STAAD Pro.
-concerete
-steel
-aluminium
-timber
composite section etc
3. Is it possible to capture images
in STAAD Pro? If yes how?
ans-
yes ,possible to capture images in staad pro .
- give take picture command and
command is avilable in utility panel
with a camera logo
4. Name the three ways by which
you can create a model.
--1. ANALYTICAL MODEL
2.PHYSICAL MODEL
3.BUILDING PLANNER MODEL .
5. Write the steps followed to
assign properties in a model.
-goto properties panel
-click on material and select desired
material
-then check assign methode based your
preferences use of cursor
-after click radio button , then
assign material complete.
2. 1. Name any six design parameter
involved in RCC design.
-ans-
-1.code practise .
provide clear cover
2.compressive strength of concerete Fc.
3.tensile strength of steel Fy.
4.max main dia. of bar
5.code practise .
6.end concerete design .
2. What are the different cursor
types available in STAAD Pro?
-NODE CURSOR
-PLATES CURSOR
-BEAM CURSOR
-SOLID CURSOR
-LOAD CURSOR
PLATES AND SOLIDS CURSOR
-GEOMETRY CURSOR
3. How will you generate different views
for a model? State the steps involved.
-Go to view option
-next we can get option like
-top view
-isomeric view
front view
-left view
-right view
bottom view
-back view .
4. Explain the procedure to define a
“Simply Supported” condition in STAAD Pro
ans-
-1st GO to Support command in tool palet
command
-click on creat support co.
-there we get Fixed support , pin support
fixed but ,
-enforcement but support , cable and
inclined support
5. Name any five topics that you
will include while creating DBR.
ans-
DBR -
DESIGN BRIEF REPORT
SO DBR is a short brief
what , why , where you are
going to make .
-in short it is core detail of project
-5 topicks include in here
-name and location of project
-structural layout .
-introduction to construction .
methology
-quality assurance and control
-budget of project .
6. Describe the term “Multi material design” of STAAD Pro.
ans .
- it is used for 3d model generation, analysis
-staad pro support diffrent material
steel ,timber ,concerete materials
-used of above seprate member we can
design a structure .
3. 1. Name the structure systems in STAAD Pro?
Explain each system?
there is 3 structure system
1.SPACE FRAMES
IT IS 3D truss
-it is used to design to carry loads
for longer span ,
without any intermidiate support .
-it is Rigid and light in weight .
-low effective cost .
2PLANE FRAME -
-It is RCC AND STEEL FRAMES .
-IT IS 2D structure ,constructed with
stright elements .
-connected hinged and rigid connection .
3.TRUSSES-
It is created in triangular forms
which take loads both tension
and compression .
2. Explain the coordinate system
adopted in STAAD Pro software.
ans-
coordinate system
adopted in STAAD Pro software
X, Y, AND Z .
-BASICKLY ADOPTED COORDINATE SYSTEM IS
1.GLOBAL AXIS IS a fixed in coordinate
system.
2.LOCAL AXIS -
IT IS variable in nature ,
we can change it
-in staad pro it is conventional coordinate system
and in this system Y IS A GLOBAL AXIS , WHICH
have upward direction .
3. Elaborate DBR and its uses.
ans-
DBR - DESIGN BRIEF REPORT
IT IS a project management
document .
-it have diffrent information
regarding of project .
-and construction.
-DBR is a detailed report ,
which have details of ongoing project .
-it have diffrent details of ongoing project like
description of client , site information
,special requirement ,technical requirement ,
components requirement project requirement
or other issues of during construction
4. Explain the different types of
analysis options in STAAD pro.
1. LINEAR ELASTIC ANALYSIS .
2.P-DELTA ANALYSIS .
3.BUCKLING ANALYSIS
4.PUSH OVER ANALYSIS
5. Explain the difference between Fixed
and Fixed But condition.
ANS-
FIXED CONDITION -
-In here all degrees of freedom that is
horizontal and vertical or
moment are fixed and this
condition are restrined we
cannot change accordingly.
FIXED BUT CONDITION
-IN THIS CONDITION we
make change at the ends
accordingly
-it is not restrined .
we can release some degree
of freedom at ends in here .
1. Create a STAAD Model with the following Specification
a. A beam of span 16m
b. Support : Fixed on one end and Roller support(Horizontal) on the other end
c. A point load of 50 kN at the mid-point
d. Draw SFD and BMD using software
ans-
PROCEDURE-
1st open staad pro
creat new file
goto model info and chosse metric units
than click on a creat option .
now open new template
goto geometry option
and in here 1st provided nodes values
next click on add beam option in tool bar
join 2 nodes with beam .
now goto support at top of screen
add > fixed >assign selected node option .
similary creat 2nd support goto ADD>FIXED BUT >ASSIGN TO SELECTED NODE OPTION
GO TO MATERIAL OPTION
CHOOSE CONCERETE FOR MATERIAL
GIVE PROPERTIES FOR BEAM .
GOTO LOADING OPTION .
NOW 1ST CLICK ON >ADD >LOAD CASES DETAILS COMES
AND SHOWN
ADD LOAD CASE 1
-CLICK ON >NEW > MATERIAL LOAD > -50 KN FOR DOWNWARD DIRECTION .
APLY LOAD
NEXT ANALYSIS DESIGN CLICK IN HERE
AND ANALYSIS AND DESIGN OPEN
CHECK ERRORS AND WARNINGS
-NEXT GO TO POST PROCESSING OPTION IN LEFT SIDE
CLICK ON DISPLACEMENT > ANNOTATE TOOL> CLICK MAX. BENDING MOM, AND
MAX. SHEAR FORCE OPTION
-NOW WE CLICK Mz for moment and
-Fy , Mz for shear force
