Structural Modelling using Etabs 2018
AIM-
To model and analysis G+7 storey building
using ETABS with application of proper
load cases and load combination
for given typical floor plan
drawing .
STEP-1:
Open ETABS software .
setgrids and storey details using editing option .
provide 4 grid in X direction and 6 grid in
y direction with proper spacing .
STEP2":
Now define each storey and storey height .
STEP3;
click define tab and select material .
chosse material such as m25 concerete .
SREP4;
Similar rebar material , click define select add new material
option and choose type as rebar grade as HYSD GRADE 500
STEP5;
Click define tab .select frame section property .
provide beam dimesion as 350 x 550 . then modify rebar details .
STEP6;
Click define tab .
select frame section property .
provide column dimesion as 400x600 , then modify rebar details
step7;
click define . select section property , click on slab section.
provide thickness of frame as 150mm
STEP 8;
CLICK define . section section property . click on wall section.
set thickness of wall as 250mm.
STEP 9;
BY using quick draw column / beam option place the column in floor plan at each grid intersection
select all storey option .
STEP 10 ;
Similarly draw beam as per floor plan .
draw shear walls ,as required places
STEP 11';
Click on plan and select base .
select one storey .
select all column base .
click on assign . select joint . select joints as fixed .
STEP 12
BY using quick draw floor / draw reactangur floor plan option place floors .
select all storey option .
step 13
click on load patterns and define dead , brick wall and live load .
step 14 ;
apply brick wall load in all beam components .
step 15 ;
apply live load as per is 875
L.LOAD = 2 KN/M^2 [AS PER TABLE 1 IS 875 PART 2]
LIVE LOAD =3KN /M^2 [AS PER TABLE 1 FROM IS 875 PART 2] FOR BALCONIES , WALKWAY ,AND LIFT AREA.
AT roof we take only 50% of live load .
step 16
similary reduction factor has been taken from clause 3.2.1 in is 875 part 2 .
step 16;
click on load pattern and define the sesmic loads.
calculate time period T value from IS 139220 CLAUSE NO 7.6.2
STEP 17
Define mass source .
step18;
select on all story option .
goto select objective type floor .
select all floors.
-go assign , click on shell , click on diaframe .
assign diaframes to all floors .
step 19
goto define ,
click on pier labels and pier labels .
select shear walls one by one and assign pier labels .
step 20
click on load cases and define no. of modes .
step 21 ;
click on analysis , click on load cases to run .tick mark calculate diaphrams center of rigidity .
step 22 ;
click on define ,select function and select on responese spectrum .
.define response spectrum in x and y direction .
step23
.select load combination , click on default design combinations .
step 24 ;
select analysis and click on check model .
after model checking click on run analysis .
select display and click on show table .
unlock model . by using base raction adjust the scale factor in response spectrum .
after run and analysis and see inter storey
drift the details should shouls be with in 4 %.
base shear is > 80%
than next analysis is completed .
