Basics of Morphing
-Aim: To get introduced to the morphing methods, hands-on experience with morphing and how to implement morphing.
-Objective:
- Understanding the way to do morphing a component.
- Where morphing has been used. Examples are given by the instructor.
- Practical use of the tool.
-Body of content:
- Morphing is a way to change the design or shape of any component without any numerical input.
- Morphing can be done on the CAD and FE as well.
- By using this method, we are able to change the shape and design of the component in the direction as per the requirement.
- This is mostly used for automobile, Aerospace, and Marine application as well. However, it is quite helpful for the automobile area.
- As mentioned by the instructor, morphing is a method of giving new shape to a component. One of the most popular examples of this is to change the design of a hatchback vehicle into a sedan one. This allows showing the possible outcome if one vehicle is to be transformed into a new vehicle with the least possible changes in design. Some very common examples for this process are the most popular vehicle those are found like Maruti Swift(hatchback) and Swift dzier(sedan), also Honda Brio(hatchback) and Amaze(sedan), Tata Tigor(sedan) and Tiago(hatchback).
- These are the most popular vehicle and all are done and modified by such operations.
3.1.1 Clean geometry to be morphed. |
3.1.2 Select the areas to be morph |
3.1.3 Confirm the command. A morph grid will get generate |
3.1.4 Select the direction in which change is to be done. |
3.1.5 Change in the model is done. |
3.1.6 Another area to be morphed. Make sure to select all the entity. |
3.1.7 Changes has been done. |
3.1.8 Another area to be changed. |
3.1.9 Change has been done. |
- Learning outcome:
- How to select the area and enable the morph grid.
- Use of move command to change the shape in any direction.
- Practical use of the morphing.
- Conclusion:
- Understanding the morphing tool available in ANSA and how to change the shape of a component.
- Different steps to be followed in order to change the shape.
- Morphing is a tool which can be used to change the shape of the previously designed component, without any need of mathematical expression and tricky process.

Benchmarking
2. Prepare a report explaining what is benchmarking. Benchmarking involved a comparison between similar products on some dimensions of performance. It can be used to compare the availability and delivery of features in a product and in this form often provide the basis of consumer tests and review. These look at products…
