    - Aim: To design the Automotive roof rail and all the necessary components to improve the strength of the roof as per the master section.

    - Method:

    - An automobile roof or car top is the portion of an automobile that sits above the passenger compartment, protecting the vehicle occupants from sun, wind, rain, and other external elements.

    Roof Challenge : Skill-Lync

    - Following images show the steps to be followed in order to complete the design.

     

    In order to improve the Qr value, either the Rx & Ry values need to be charged from the styling team, or another option is to improve the strength in that area using mastics or emboss need to be given.

    The formula for W is broken into A, B, C and then calculated for ease of calculations.

     - As it can be seen that the value of Qr is below the required value for a certain area and in order to improve it and improve the strength of the roof, embossing has to be done.
