1. Aim: Understanding the methods of Auto mid surface and mesh generation. Using the methods like skin mid surface, Casting mid surface and manual mid surface and the Batch mesh as well.
2. Objectives:
- Using the manual mid and Batch mesh to generate the auto mesh.
- Using skin mid surface to extract the mid and manual meshing on it.
- Using the casting mid surface, which takes the mid surface and applies mesh and separates the mesh from CAD as well.
- Comparing these methods and understanding the most differences.
3. Body of Content:
- In this particular challenge, the main focus is on understanding the process of generating auto mid surface and how to generate auto mesh as well.
- For this purpose, skin, casting and batch mesh operations are done. Skin provides the mid surface only and the manual mesh has to be done. Or another option is to provide the batch mesh on the skin mid surface.
- The batch mesh is an auto mesh generation process and ANSA provides best possible mesh with minimum errors. However, some corrections are needed to be done in order to obtain better mesh.
- Casting mesh is another option which provides the auto mesh. However, it also provides mesh on the model and separates the FE from CAD geometry. Following are the images and necessary information provided as per the process and a comparison is done to show which operation provides the best possible result.
4. Learning outcome:
- Auto mesh generation and its improvement.
- Use of batch mesh tool and generate mesh on the entire area in lesser time.
- Comparison of all the three processes.
5. Conclusion:
- The auto mesh is a less time-consuming process and gives the result.
- Manual mesh consumes more time to generate mid surface and mesh and provides a better result.
- Batch mesh though generated mesh on the entire area still some corrections are need to be done.

Benchmarking
2. Prepare a report explaining what is benchmarking. Benchmarking involved a comparison between similar products on some dimensions of performance. It can be used to compare the availability and delivery of features in a product and in this form often provide the basis of consumer tests and review. These look at products…
