Butterfly Valve Assembly Modelling
In this challenge, we are going to assemble all the parts that we have created in earlier challenges for the Butterfly Valve and also plot a 2D drawing for the same by applying GD&T principles.
The parts of the Butterfly Valve include,
The first step is to create a context assembly under which we are going to constrain all the parts individually. Let us first import all the parts together.
Once the assembly is created, the first part that we are going to constrain is the body of the valve. This part will be fixed and act as the base for the assembly to which other parts are going to come & gets attached.
The next part will be the shaft that will be inserted into the body. Before constraining the Shaft, let us first assemble the Disc to the shaft by coinciding the 2 holes with respect to its axis.
2 Screws of M12 size will be used to fix the Disc with the Shaft.
This Shaft along with the disc will be fitting inside the body of the valve as shown below.
Next, the Retainer will be going to mount on the top surface of the body and also coinciding with the 3 holes.
3 Screws of M20 size will be used to tighten the Retainer with the base.
The next will be the Lever that comes and sits on the top of the Retainer. Also, the slot that is available on both bodies of the valve and Lever will align with each other.
Finally, a Nut will be fitted on the top surface of the Lever and that completes our Butterfly Valve Assembly.
Final Assembly of the Butterfly Valve.
The 2D drawing will be plotted and also using the 3-2-1 Principle of GD&T we will constrain the assembly.
