PROCEDURE:
STEP 1: Import
After given model is imported, it is clear that there are many topological errors in the model.
STEP 2: Geometry Cleanup
Once imported, to remove the topological issues, Topo option is used
It is observed that most of the errors are removed by topo tool.
STEP 3: Geometry Check
From geometry check there are no errors in the model.
STEP 4: Orientation
STEP 5: DeFeaturing
Smaller areas less than 1mm is defeatured inorder to obtain mesh with elements following the quality criteria.
STEP 6: SHELL Meshing
Initially, hole sections and circular sections are meshed using spot mesh option with element type as ortho tria.
Plain surfaces are meshd using tria elements and the whole model surfaces are meshed.
Shell elements violating quality criteria are cleared using reconstruct and Num+/- tool.
STEP 7: Define Volume
STEP 8: Volumetric Meshing
Tetra FEM option is used and volume defined is selected to produce the volumetric mesh
Volume mesh obtaine with 5134 elements violating criteria.
Under solids Quality criteria, min and max length was turned on, which was unnecessary and removed.
STEP 9: View in Volumes mode
STEp 10: Alignment
Alignment of nodes are done to avoid kinks and drops on the solid mesh of the model
CONCLUSION:
Given Intake manifold was performed with the follwoing actions:
