Week 9 - Project 1 - Door Applique Design with Engineering Features

Aim: To Create the Base Bracket Plastic component through the given Class-A surface . Also, Creating the Heat Stakes and the locators considering the design rules mentioned in the video for the door applique.

INPUT

Applique & Door Attachment

Tooling axis

Creating the tooling axis with reference to the draft analysis in the y-axis

Class C Surface

Creating a sweep extrude with a draft angle of 3 degrees for closure

Offseting Class -A to thickness value of 2.5mm and trimming it off to create a closed surface.

LOCATORS

Creating a point and a plane on the door attachment to Sketch the 2-D of the 4-way and 2-way locators.

4 way locator designed considering design rules and added to the Applique

2 way locator designed considering design rules and added to the Applique

HEAT STAKES

Location of heat stakes is deceided using parallel curve and point creation. 2-d sketch is made for 3-d pad.

Heat skates are padded with fillet and draft angle to the applique surface.

It is then translated to all the points to create multiple heat stakes.

DOOR ATTACHMENT

Thickening of the door attachment is made till the applique surface of Closing Assembly.

The part where the locators are meet in the door attachment for 'Attachment' is removed with clearance distance of 0.1mm

The part where the Heat stakes are meet in the door attachment for 'Attachment' is removed with clearance distance of 0.5mm
