Week 9 - Attachment Feature Creation - Challenge 2

OBJECTIVE:

To Create the Screw Boss and Dog House for the Centre console coin holder considering the design rules

SCREW BOSS WITH RIBS

Screw boss is created with ribs considering for its structural support

Intersection View

It seen that the ribs and screw boss is designed considering desgines rules of 40% wall thickness 1mm with optimum fillet radius of 0.25mm and with draft angle of 0.5 degree.

DOG HOUSE

Dog house is created for structural support for screw boss or where there is design constraints for the screw bosses.

Here, the Dog house is created considering the design rules which is 30% of wall thickness should be the contacting surface of dog house - 1mm whereas other wall thickness of dog house is 2mm and the height of contacting surface should be 3mm to 6mm - 4mm is provided here.

Screw boss is translated over the top of Dog house and added to the whole Part body of Coin holder.

Screw Boss

It has cleared the mimum draft angle which has been given of 0.5 degrees

Dog house

Outer surface of the Dog house has been cleared with Main tooling axis (yellow line).

Inner surfaces can be cleared for draft only by another Side core with a its tooling axis as shown below

Side Core tooling axis (pink line) is created to clear the inner surface of Dog house for draft analysis.
