Week 8 - Challenge 4 - Coin Holder Design

CLASS A SURFACE

TOOLING AXIS

It is created perpendicular to the base surface of the pocket as it is the obvious direction of a tooling in manufacturing.

CLASS B SURFACE

B Surface is created with offset distance of 2.5mm outwards from the Class A Input

CLASS C SURFACE

Connection between the CLASS A & CLASS B is made which is CLASS C to make a closed surface component with a thickness.

CLOSED THICKENED BODY

Closed thicked part body is created at last with the thickness of 2.5mm.

TREE STRUCTURE

DRAFT ANALYSIS

Since single tooling axis is not enough for clearing the draft angle of the side walls, Sliders and lifters along the main core in the time of manufacturing should be used with its own tooling axis to give draft angle for the failing features.

Addting sliders, side core, lifters etc. increase the expense of the manufacturing process which is not advisable.
