Challenge 6 : Concept Modeling of Side Fender

Concept modelling of side fender

Objective – Our objective is to use the provided images and make a 3D surface model of side fender and car hood by visualization.

Introduction – Almost every time automotive designs are representation and imagination of the designer which is shown on the plain seet, but the design cannot be finalised without observing how it looks and feels in person and that is why we have an entire product design team, where a design is made with team work and with trail and error. Now sometimes we do not have all the views and at the time we have to assume certain areas and certain parts how it looks how is the vision of designer. Here comes the experience and capability of the engineer to perform that task.

Methodology –

Work process –

Following tools we have used to make this complete surface modelling.

1.CV curves

2.Blends

3.Align

4.Attach/Detach

5.Trim

6.Project

7.Duplicate

8.Circle

9.Extend

10.Square

11.Skin

12.Rail/Bi-Rail/M-Rail

13.Free-form blend

14.Surface fillet

Image provided by skill-Lync of side fender

Now first we start making the base surface

Now that this part is over, we will make the surface for that we can use various features like square skin etc.

There are various features with ALIAS provides various dynamic shades for different understanding of the flow of surfaces and reflection on the surfaces.

After that we will follow further process according to the images

Now we will make the surface modelling by visualisation of car hood images provided by skill-Lync

Conclusion: -

After performing this task, I have increased visualization capability and saw how by using align and extend commands we can get good results.
