Challenge 7 : Concept Modelling of Steering Wheel

Concept modelling of steering wheel

Objective- To make the model of car steering wheel from one image by visualization which provided by skill-Lync.

Introduction- Concept modelling is the modelling where 3d data starts to take shape. It is a crucial part of the process as every part involved in the design process depends on this to actually visualize, how the design has come out the shape and feet of it. The process starts from the point where the design has come up to a point of finalization.

The entire car or model is not designed by a single member of a team rather it is divided in to parts and distributed among the team members to part by part. In this project we are modelling a steering wheel using a single image. Many a times, things have to be visualized by designer which helps him to get an idea of the model would look from other views and thus complete the model.

Methodology

Work process –

Following tools we have used to make this complete surface modelling.

1.CV curves

2.Blends

3.Align

4.Attach/Detach

5.Trim

6.Project

7.Duplicate

8.Circle

9.Extend

10.Square

11.Skin

12.Rail/Bi-Rail/M-Rail

13.Free-form blend

14.Surface fillet

Now first we start making the base surface

Now that this part is over, we will make the surface for that we can use various features like square skin etc.

There are various features with ALIAS provides various dynamic shades for different understanding of the flow of surfaces and reflection on the surfaces.

Conclusion: -

After performing this task, I have increased visualization capability and saw how by using align and extend commands we can get good results.
