DRAFT - THE DRAFT IS PROVIDING ANGLES OR TAPERS ON PRODUCT FEATURES SUCH AS WALLS,RIBS,POSTS AND BOSSES THAT LIE TO THE DIRECTION OF RELEASE FROM THE MOLD EASES PART EJECTION.
THE MINIMUM DRAFT IS SHOULD RANGE BETWEEN 0.5 DEGREE TO 1 DEGREE . THE NOMINAL DRAFT FOR A COMPONENT OR PART IS 3 DEGREE.
IN CATIA WE USE THE DRAFT ANALYSIS OPITION TO CREATE THE DRAFT TO THE PART OR COMPONENT. WE CREATE THE DRAFT ANALYSIS WE SHOULD REQUIRE THE TOOLING AXIS .
TO CREATE A TOOLING AXIS -
STEP 1 : FIRSTLY TO SELECT A SUTIABLE AXIS FOR THE PART AND EXTRACT THE SURFACE FROM CLASS A .
STEP 2 : CREATE A POINT ON THE SURFACE AND CREATE A AXIS SYSTEM ON THAT POINT .
STEP 3 : AND SELECT THE PLANE XZ AND CREATE A LINE FROM THE INTERSECTING PART .
STEP 4 : BY THE USING THE TOOLING AXIS LINE TO CREATE THE DRAFT ANALYSIS.
