FENDER WHEEL ARCH AREA
STUDY OF WHEEL GUARD REQUIREMENTS FOR FENDER AND BUMPER
WHEEL ARCH IS HAVING SOME STANDARD SPECIFICATIONS.IF WE SEE CAR FROM THE FRONT, IF THE WHEEL IS OUTSIDE THE FENDER OF THE CAR IT DOES THE MORRE CHIPING AND THESE WILL DAMAGE A LOT TO THE PEDESTRIANS AND ALSO TO THE CAR.
IMAGE BELOW SHOWS A CAR HAVING OUTSIDE THE FENDER.
TO HAVE THE PEDESTRIANS SAFETY IN THE MIND WE HAVE TO POSITION THE WHEEL INSIDE THE FENDER. AND THIS IS THE STANDARDS
FOR DIFFERENT REGIONS WE HAVE DIFFERENT STANDARDS FOR THE SAFETY FACTOR FOR THE WHEEL ARCH . IMAGE ABOVE SHOW THE EUROPEAN STANDARDS.
AFTER WE GET THE STYLING DATA WE TAKE THE WHEEL CENTER AND MARK THE 0 TO 180 DEGREE LINE. AND MAKE A 90 DEGREE LINE.
WEMAKE A LINE AT 50 DEGREE ON THE RIGHT OF THE 90 DEGREE LINE AND A LINE AT A ANGLE OF 30 DEGREE FROM THE 90 DEGREE LINE . AND AFTER THAT WE MAKE A POINT FROM THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE WHEEL AT A DISTANCE OF 150 UPSIDE. AND MAKE A LINE FROM WHEEL CENTER .
THEN MAKE A LINE BETWEEN THIS LINE AND THE 50 DEGREE LINE .
AND WHEEN WE PROJECT THE SAME LINES WE WILL HAVE A GAP OF MINIMUM 10 MM FROM THE WHEEL TO THE FENDER EDGE FOR ALL THESE FIVE POINTS.. FOR THE EUROPEAN STANDARDS. AS SHOWN IN IMAGE ABOVE.
THESE REQUIREMENT CHANGES REGION TO REGION . WITH RESPECT TO THE ROAD CONDITIONS OF THAT REGION.
IF WE NOT GET THE 10 MM FOR ALL THESE 5 POINTS WE GO TO STYLING ENGINEER AND SAY TO CHANGE THE CURVATURE OF THE FENDER.
FOR POINT A
FOR POINT B
FOR POINT C
FOR POINT D
FOR POINT E
POINTS | POINT A | POINT B | POINT C | POINT D | POINT E |
VALUES | 9.9490MM | 10MM | 0.113949MM | 1.7934MM | 3.6035MM |
