Week - 8 - Morphing

Objective:

To perform the morphing technique on the given two models.

1. Component.IGES File

2. Hand_rest.ansa File

Procedure:

• Firstly, open the Ansa software, select and import the model into the software.
• Import the component.Iges file to work and perform the morphing technique.
• Import the model and make sure to perform the topo on the given model if the model consists of any single cons.
• The Topo option in the Faces tools is available in the Topo deck and select the entire component and middle-click. All the single cons are converted to double cons.

THE COMPONENT MODEL WITH DOUBLE CONS AFTER THE TOPO PROCEDURE

• To perform the morphing, isolate the region were to perform the morphing technique.
• After isolating the surface, switch from the Topo deck to the Morph deck from the Modules.
• In the Morph deck, we need to select the Boxes>New>Ortho and then the geometry is to be selected.
• After clicking Ok, a morph box is highlighted on the selected geometry region.

THE MORPH BOX IS CREATED AFTER SELECTING THE GEOMETRY

• Select the Box morphing, and then select the Move option in order to move the surface up to the desired location as prescribed.
• By selecting the nodes on the edges of the box select the nodes by left-clicking and by middle-click move the nodes onto the desired location.
• After moving the nodes to a desires location, middle-click to save the morphed surface.
• Complete the entire process, in the same way, to perform the morphing procedure on the surface.

THE MORPHING PROCEDURE ON THE LOCATION PRESCRIBED

THE ENTIRE MODEL HAS BEEN MORPHED TO THE DESIRED SHAPE BY USING THE MORPH TOOLS

• The Morphing procedure is carried out on the given component model by using the morph tools.

In the same way, increase the height of the Dog houses & Ribs in the hand_rest model by using the morph tools.

THE HIGHLIGHTED PORTION ON THE SURFACE HAS TO BE MORPHED

THE MORPH BOX IS CREATED ON THE SELECTED GEOMETRY

THE DOGHOUSES AND THE RIBS HAVE BEEN MORPHED TO A DESIRED SHAPE

THE MORPHING PROCEDURE DONE ON THE HAND_REST MODEL

CONCLUSION:

The morphing technique is performed on the given 2 models by making them to the desired shape by using different morphing tools.
