OBJECTIVE:
To Carry out the geometry cleanup operation on the given 3 files.
There should not be any free edges, convert all of them into refine geometry.
need to perform these operations on the model
CAD images:
Practice model:
Clip repair model:
Mounting Bracket:
Procedure:
Geometry cleanup
1.Practice Model:
1. first we need to import model by selecting import<model
2.then change component view by topo.
If any solids present it will show in green colour.then delete the solids.
3.first we need to check any geometrical errors are there.if they are those will appear in red colour.then we need to work on these errors by using some quick edit tools.
4.The above images having errors of free edges.those can be rectified by using toggle edges. go to geom
5.
Yello lines appeared due to presence of duplicate surfaces.By deleting these surfaces we can solve this error.
6.
Here some surfaces are missing that is the reason here free edges are appeared.so go to geom
7.
Replacing points will remove these type of free edges by go to geo
2.clip repair
There is no geometrical errors in this model.
3.MOUNTING BRACKET:
There is no geometrical errors in this model.
Mid surface Extraction:
for mid surface extraction we will follow auto midsurface by goto geom
clip repair model :
mid surface extracted by auto midsurface extraction.
Mounting Bracket:
Midsurface cleanup:
patch the holes lessthan 5mm dia by using fillersurface option by go to geom<filler surface<select edge.
meshing:
clip reapair:
for this model due to symmetry we can do meshing on one side and reflect it on the other side by goto tool<reflect<select elements<duplicate<current component<give direction and base point <click on reflect then mesh will reflect.
Mounting bracket:For this component automesh will do then rotate elements about centre point as base point.
Now we need to assign property creating property.then assign this property to this middlesurface.

Week 4 -Wire Bending Challenge
Objective: For this challenge, we will have to perform an analysis to simulate the bending of a wire in ANSYS. we will have to use Copper Alloy (Non Linear), Aluminium Alloy (Non Linear) and Magnesium Alloy ( Non Linear) for the wire alone. You need to find out the Equivalent stress and Equivalent strain on the wire alone.…
