Challenge

Week 8 - Challenge 3 - Coin Holder Design

Create the Coin Holder Plastic component through the given Class-A surface. To begin with, the tooling axis for the given Class-A Surface should be created meeting the requirements of the draft angle and at the end perform the Draft analysis on the model.

GIVEN CLASS A

First step is to create tooling axis for the mold.

TOOLING AXIS

Y axis is the tooling side here.

First intersect it with XY axis and create two lines bisecting them together then intersect YZ axis and bisect lines. Bisecting both axis lines created by axis resulting Tooling Axis for Class A.

DRAFT ANALYSIS

Second step to perform Draft Analysis on Class A surface Using Tooling Axis to check the surface to perform further surfaces.

Selecting Draft analysis Compass tool on Class A surface checking min. ans max. draft angle locking it. the result will be color differentiated as green, red, and blue (positive, neutral, and negative).
then give ok to save the result.

CLASS B SURFACE

Third is to create Class B surface

Extracting the surfaces and extrapolating all surfaces to 2.5 given thickness and trimming them together step by step creating final Class B surface.

Class C Surface

For class C surface Sweeping the outside wall border to 90 degree.

Triming and joining Class C, Class B and Class A surface together.

Then closing the surface into solid.

Draft analysis of final Solid.
