Week 5 Bending of iPhone
IPHONE BENDING CHALLENGE
CASE_1 :
OBJECTIVE:- Perform a static structural analysis on Iphone and find the directional deformation for the model and also find the life and Safety factor of the frame(Aluminium Alloy NL).
First to import the given model and assign material as given in the challenge for Display I assign Glass and for Frame I assign Aluminium Alloy NL and for inside body I assign Polyethylene and for Fingures I assign Structural Steel.
Only Geometry is different for Case_2 and all others detail of Case_2 are same as in Case_1.
Image of the model given below:
- Properties of material are same in both the cases:
- Now come to contact details, Contacts details are same for both the cases:
- Joint details given below, and joint details are same for both the cases:
- Now come to details of meshing and meshing details are also same for both the cases:
- Now come to analysis setting:
- Details of Fixed Support given below:
- Details of Displacement Joint 1 given below:
- Details of Displacement Joint 2 given below:
Now come to Results:
- DIRECTIONAL DEFORMATION:
MINIMUM: -8.4639e-002 mm
MAXIMUM: 2.095 mm
AVERAGE: 0.56537 mm
- LIFE OF ALUMINIUM ALLOY NL:
- SAFETY FACTOR OF ALUMINIUM ALLOY NL:
IPHONE BENDING CHALLENGE CASE_2
OBJECTIVE: Move the bottom fingures from there defined position to the given position in X=22.5 mm and in Z=10mm and then obtain the results.
- Image of changed model given below:
Now come to Results:
- DIRECTIONAL DEFORMATION:
MINIMUM: -0.44207 mm
MAXIMUM: 4.1270 mm
AVERAGE: 0.96826 mm
- LIFE OF ALUMINIUM ALLOY NL:
- SAFETY FACTOR OF ALUMINIUM ALLOY NL:
DESIGN LIFE IS SAME FOR BOTH THE CASES.
- COMPARISON OF RESULTS OBTAIN IN CASE 1 AND IN CASE 2:
