SOFTWARE REQUIRED: ANSA V 19.1.5 (HERE V MEANS VERSION).
ABOUT ANSA: ANSA IS DEVELOPED BY BETA CAE SYSTEMS, IT IS A TOOL FOR FEA AND CFD ANALYSIS.
ANSA CARRIES PROPERITY ALGORITHM .
ANSA STANDS FOR - AUTOMATIC NET GENERATION FOR STRUCTURAL ANALYSIS.(NET GENEREATION MEANS- MESHING).
ANSA PHASES:
1) IMPORT A CAD GEOMETRY
2) GEOMETRY CLEANUP
3)SKIN/MID SURFACE GENERATION
4)SHELL/SOLID MESHING
5)ELEMENTARY QUALITY CHECK
6) MESH IMJPROVEMENT
7)APPLY LOADS AND BOUNDARY CONDITIONS
7)EXPORT INPUT FILE.
BEFORE IMORTING A MODEL IT MUST IN THESE BELOW FORMATS.
1)STEP(*.STEP/*.STP/*.stp/*.step)
2)IGES(*.IGES/*.IGS/*.iges/*.igs)
3)STL(*.STL/*.stl)
HERE THESE ARE THE FILE FORMATS FOR CAD MODEL WHICH ANSA READABLE .
FOR EXAMPLE IN CATIA THE CAD MODEL SAVED IN .PRT FORMAT ,BUT IT IS NOT AN ANSA READABLE FILE FORMAT SO THE ANSA WILL DIRECTLY CONVERTED THAT TO ANY ONE OF THE ABOVE MENCTIONED FORMATS.
1)IMPORT CAD GEOMETRY : IN THIS STEP WE HAVE TO IMPORT A CAD FILE IN ANSA BY USING THE OPEN COMMAND IN ANSA.
BELOW FIGURE REPRESENTING THE FIRST STEP.
AFTER IMPORTING THE CAD GEOMETRY, FIRSTLY GIVE THE TOPO TO THAT MODEL AND THEN CHANGE THE ORIENTATION TO ONE COLOUR .
HERE GREY COLOUR MEANS POSITVE AND YELLOW COLOUR MEANS NEGATIVE.
AFTER GIVING THE ORIENTATION THE WHOLE COMPONENT COMES INTO SINGLE COLOUR IT IS GREY COLOUR.
AFTER GIVING THE ORIENTATION THE WHOLE COMPONNENT COMES UNDER SINGLE COLOUR.
BELOW FIGURE REPRESENTING THE ORIENTATION OF A COMPONENT.
INSTEAD OF USING FINE WE ARE GOING TO THE LENGHT IN MESH AS 1MM BECAUSE THEY ALREADY PROVIDED THE AVG LENGTH AS 1MM.
2) GEOMETRY CLEANUP: HERE GEOMETRIC CLEAN UP IS USED TO ELIMINATE ANY UNNECESSARY TRIPLE CONS , DOUBLE CONS AND SINGLE CON AND EDGES ETC.
IN CHECK MANAGER THER ARE TWO TYPES
1) AUTO FIX
2) MANUAL FIX
BELOW FIGURE REPRESENT THE CHECK MANAGER.
3)SKIN/MID SURFACE GENERATION: THERE IS NO NEED TO TAKE THE MID SURFACE GENERATION .
IT IS MAINLY DEPENDS ON THE THICKNESS OF THE COMPONENT.
IF A COMPONENT IS LESS THAN 5MM , WE ARE GOING TO TAKE A MID SURFACE FOR THAT COMPONENT.
IF A COMPONENT HAVE GREATER THAN 5 MM THICKNESS THEN WE HAVE TO FOLLOW THE SOLID MESHING.
4)SHELL/SOLID MESHING:HERE WE ARE USING SOLID MESHING.
THERE ARE TWO DIFFERENT THINGS IN SOLID AND SHELL MESHING.
SHELL MESH:SHELL MESING IS A TWO DIMENSIONAL MESH LIKE THERE IS NO THICKNESS.
EXAMPLES OF SHELL MESH : TRIANGLE , QUADRILATERAL ETC.
SOLID MESHING : IT IS ALSO KNOWN AS THREE DIMENSIONAL MESH.
IT HAS TWO TYPES
1) TETRA MESH- UNSTRUCTURAL MESH.
2) HEXAMESH-STRUCTURAL MESH.
HERE WE ARE USING TETRA MESH FOR THIS COMPONENT.

HERE WE ARE USING SPOT MESH FOR BETTER FEATURE CAPTURING.
IN SPOT MESH ALSO THERE ARE TWO THINGS
1)ORTHO TRIA
2) TRIA
ORTHO TRIA IS USED FOR CURVED FACES IN THE COMPONENT FOR BETTER FEATURE CAPTURING.
TRIA IS USED IN ALL ESPECIALLY FOR FLAT SURFACES.
5)ELEMENTARY QUALITY CHECK: IN ELEMENTARY QUALITY CHECK THE R AND D WILL GIVE THE VALUES.
THEY MENCTIONED MIN, MAX , COLLAPSE AND AVERAGE.
MIN LENGTH - 0.5MM
MAX LENGTH- 2MM
COLLAPSE - 0.2MM
AVG LENGTH - 1MM.
BELOW FIGURE REPRESENT THE BOTH.
FOR CREATING THE VOLUME WE ARE USING THE TETRA FEM ALGORITHM FOR ELIMINATING THE KINKS AND DIPS.
BELOW REPRESENTING THE SHELL FEM AND VOL INDIVIDUALLY FOR BETTER UNDERSTANDING.
RESULT: I GOT ZERO OFF ELEMENTS OF MAX, MIN, AVG, COLLAPSE. ALL THE ELEMENTS ARE CAPTURED PROPERLY AND THERE SHOULD NOT BE ANY KINK OR DIPS IN THE COMPONENT.
THE BELOW FIGURE REPRESNT THE DETAILED DATA OF SHELLS IN QUADS ,TRIAS, TOTAL IN BOTH SHELL AND VOLUME .
