Week 8 - Challenge 2 - Switch Bezel Design

SWITCH BEZEL:

This aim is to design switch bezel in the surface workbench from the class A surface and perform draft analysis.

First of all the we need to analysis the design and set a tooling axis and ensure that the design has least number of side cores, or no sidecore as these factors directly affect the production cost.

Then using the Class A surface we develop class B and class C surfaces.

Here is how the design procedure is,

Set up a tooling axis

Create a base from class A surface.

Create B surface

Create C surface

Close the surfaces for creating part model

Do the draft analysis.

create tooling axis using two methods one is direct and another is bisecting method, bisection method is applied to complex surfases as switch bezel.

DRAFT ANALYSIS:

Draft analysis is performed on class A surface by using feature draft analysis.

Creating a class B surface

Create bezel rest surface, extract from class A surface and using untrim and extrapolate the surfaces to bisect each other to perform trim, fillets are neglected at the begining as it makes complex design. using offset create surfaces

CLASS B surface

Add fillets take use of class A surface and find out the fillet radius, using edge fillet give the fillets .

Class C surface:

Join the A B C surfaces and using closed surface close the part to thicken.
