AIM:
To perform 2D meshing opetaion on car Hood according to the given quality criteria in ANSA.
OPERATIONS INCLUDED:
Topology cleanup,
Geometry checks and refinements,
Assigning quality criteria,
Midsurface extraction,
Meshing.
PROCEDURE:
Since the hood has different parts we takeup each and every part individually using property tab and perform operations on it.
IMAGE SHOWING ENTIRE HOOD.
PROPERTIES TAB SHOWING THE PARTS INCLUDED IN THE DESIGN MODEL.
TOPOLOGY CLEANUP:
After taking up each parts individually we assign parametric and macros length of 1mm to entire body for quick geometry cleanup.
INNER PANEL GEOMETRY CHEKS.
After gemotry checks we select proper orient to make sure that offset is pointing in the direction we want to and assign the half thickness length (ex; if the body had 1.2 thickness based on directio of offset we input the value as -1.2/2 or 1.2/2) for perfect midsurface extraction.
INNERPANEL MIDSURFACE
After Midsurface extraction we reassign the target length and proceed for meshing.
QUALITY CRITERIA TO BE ASSIGNED FOR MESHING.
INNERPANEL MESH
Since the panel is symmetrical we delete the half section and after proper meshing on the selected half we copy the mesh by selecting the co-ordinate points for full mesh.
copying and transforming the half meshed symmety part.
MESHED INNER PANEL.
Each individual Meshed parts are saved seperately by selecting the setPID and assigning the respected thickness values
for better result we make sure that no part of the mesh is failing for the given quality criteria.
MESHED LATCHES
MESHED OUTER PANEL
MESHED HINGE
Finally making sure there is no off elements after meshing.
LEARNING OUTCOMES
1.checking and fixing geometry checks is necessary action for clean geometry.
2.construction lines are managed for a good mesh without affecting the geometry
3.mesh flow arranged in a proper direction for thier respected sections.
4.quality criteria helps in defining the mesh failures.
5.assigning parametrical length before meshing heps in quick geometry refining.
6.assigning the correct thickness and material properties is checked for solver identification.
CONCLUSION
As a final note in 2D meshing of hood, proper mesh arrangement as per given quality criteria and fixing geometry checks are necessary steps for better FEA result.

Week-7 Challenge: DC Motor Control
AIM: Modify the model of Speed control of a DC motor using BJT H-bridge such that armature current doesn’t shoot up when motor changes direction from forward to reverse using MATLAB/Simulink. Refer and compare the model of The Four-Quadrant Chopper DC Drive (DC7) block with H-bridge model.…
