3) From the architecture/ structure tool bar familiarize with options to draw a wall. Create a rectangular layout of walls of about 40’-0” X 35’-0”
AIM : To draw a wall using architecture tool bar and to create a rectangular layout of walls about 40'0" X 35'0".
TOOLS USED : Wall tool in Architecture menu, 3D view tool in view menu.
PROCEDURE :
1. In a new project file, open wall tool in architecture and choose type of wall to start the wall drawing.
2. It creates a cursor in a + form, select a point on drawing space and drag the cursor and type 40' to create a wall of 40'.
3. Proceed with a wall of 35' perpendicular to the first wall and complete the rectangular wall layout.
RESULT : The reactangular wall layout of 40' X 35' is created using architectural tool bar successfully. The 3D view of this layout is shown below.
4) From Annotate tool bar use aligned option to add dimensions to the layout.
AIM : To add dimensions to the layout using aligned option from annotate tool bar.
TOOLS USED : Aligned tool from annotate menu.
PROCEDURE :
1. In the previous project of making rectangular wall layout, click on aligned option in anotate tool bar.
2. Now, choose the lines between which we need to get dimenions and click enter to get dimensions.
RESULT : The dimenions are 7 7/8" more, due to the wall thickness which is of 7 7/8".
5) Use the properties browser to switch to different wall types.
AIM : To switch to different wall types using properties browser.
TOOLS USED : Properties in modify menu.
PROCEDURE :
1. Open the previously created file on rectangular wall layout.
2. select a wall and go to modify tab, there will be a drop down under properties.
3. choose type of wall as required anfd click enter to create a wall of required type.
RESULT : The required change of wall type is done successfully.
6)Create a 3D view from the view tool bar and save the view with appropriate name
AIM : To create a 3D view from view tool bar and save view with appropriate name.
TOOLS USED : 3D View in view tool bar.
PROCEDURE :
1. Open a file which is created recently.
2. In the view menu tab, and click on 3D view and click enter.
3. In the project browser in 3D views, double click on the file name to change name as required.
RESULT : Required 3D view is created with appropriate name, level 1 as shown in the picture below.
7) Navigate through the 3D model using view cube. Orbit/pan through the model layout created.
AIM : To navigate through the 3d model using view cube.
TOOLS USED : View tool bar, 3D View and view cube.
PROCEDURE :
1. Open a 3D view created previously, there will be option in the right side corner below zoom option named 2D wheel, it creates a navigation wheel with the help of which we can rotate the view 360 degrees . Select the pan to move in direction.
RESULT : Navigation of the 3D view is done successfully.
8) Use the visibility settings option below to switch model to shaded, realistic, hidden lines options.
AIM : To use visibility settings option to switch model to shaded, realistic and hidden lines options.
TOOLS USED : 3D View, visual style options.
PROCEDURE :
1.Open a 3D view created previously.
2.In the revit software, there is a tab in which we have visual style , there will be options shaded, realistic and hidden lines .
RESULT : The following views are created .

11) What is Analyze tool bar used in Revit? How it is beneficial for design and modelling.
Answer : Analyse tool bar helps in creating revit odels, this tool bar cinsists of many other options which help in load combinations, boundary conditions, load and load cases adjustement and support systems are one among the tools under this analyze tool bar where in we get to adjust and add additional supports to present model. Space seperation, space naming and space tagging are also options available assigning names to rooms. colour fill and energy optimizations are tools which help to know how far a model is economical and eco-friendly.
12) What are the links that Revit supports to be linked to the model?
Answer : Links that Revit support to be linked to the modeal are Link Revit, Link IFC, Link CAD, Link Topography, DWF Markup, Paint Cloud, Coordination model, Link PDF, Link Image, Manage Links.
13) Why do you need Collaborate tab in Revit? How it supports modelling and its efficiency?
Answer : We need collaborate tab in revit to link up multiple revit models together so that any member in team working can change required changes. This is mainly useful when working in teams from wide range of engineers i.e, from mechanical engineer to architectural engineer. It is useful in increasing efficiency of work with high accuracy. One can also change with proper communication accordingly as this tab also enables Modelling.
