OBJECTIVE:
To mesh the given component with given quality criteria.
To create connectors and attach the various parts of the component.
PROCEDURE:
Import the given geometry from the import geometry option.
There components involved in the given hood modal are front truss(2), reinf plate(1), right rail(2), left rail(2), rear truss(2).
Mesh the all the components with given element quality criteria.
To enter the element quality criteria, Go to preference in the tool bar and select criteria file setting and enter the values as per given data.
Mesh all the surfaces of every components and to check the quality go to 2D and select quality index, the worst elements will be highlighted.
To get rid out of this, go to clean up tools and use drag tria element, place nodes, element optimize and swap edge.
Mesh the one side of the component if the component is symmetrical and we can reflect the mesh on the other side, go to tool and select reflect and select the axis to reflect and select all the elements and duplicate them and select the base point and reflect.[tool<<reflect]
To give connectivity between reflected parts, go to tools and select the edges and component and give tolerance value and select preview equivalence.
CONNECTORS:
To create connectors between two component, go to 2D mesh panel and select connectors, we can connect the component as per given details.
First connect the right rail 2 and front truss 1 with seam-Quad(angled + capped + L). Select seam on the connectors and select node lists and component which should be connected and give the type angled + capped + L, also give the tolerance and create connectors.
If you want to realize the connectors go to main tool bar<<view<<browser<<hypermesh<<connector and click on the connector which you want to realize.
Do the same procedure for all the connectors. We can create quad element, spot weld, hexa (adhesive), bold connectors, spot weld with such element like rigid element and spring element.
After connect all the components, join the left component with suitable connectors.
RESULT:
Meshed all the componnents with given element quality criteria and created connectors as per given component details and connected left component with suitable connectors.
