Week_8_Plastic Model_1

OBJECTIVE

• To mesh the Plastic Model with given quality parameters without using auto-midsurfacing option.

PROCEDURE

• Geometry was imported @IMPORT>FILES>IMPORT>GEOMETRY>ALL>IMPORT.
• Delete solids @DELETE>SOLIDS>SOLIDS>ALL/DISPLAYED>OK>DELETE ENTITY.
• For each feature area, mesh was deployed at one side using @2D>AUTOMESH>ELEMENT to SURFACE>MESH.
• Then element offset was done @2D>ELEMENT OFFSET>SHELL OFFSET>ELEMENTS>OFFSET+/-.
• Deployed mesh was offet for all other features and base, mesh was attached using @F3>NODE>select....OK.
• Complete meshing was done using the 'AUTOMESH' after attaching the needed.
• Before meshing, quality index criteria was applied using @2D>QUALITY INDEX>PAGE 4>EDIT CRITERIA>INPUT VALUES>APPLY>OK.
• Cleanup tools were used at quality index for modification of elements.
• 'Edges' were checked and 'Equvi' was applied and also @TOOLS>NORMALS>DISPLAY>ADJUST.
• Material and Properties were also assigned to model.
• Then, geometry was 'Exported' @FILE>EXPORT>choose file>rename as needed>EXPORT.
