Coin Holder Design
Objective-
To Create the Coin Holder Plastic component through the given Class-A surface.the tooling axis for the given Class-A Surface should be created meeting the requirements of the draft angle and at the end perform the Draft analysis on the model.
Take the Thickness of the component to be 2.5 mm
Aim-
Draft analysis-
The Draft Analysis command enables you to detect if the part you drafted will be easily removed. This type of analysis is performed based on color ranges identifying zones on the analyzed element where the deviation from the draft direction at any point, corresponds to specified values.
Tooling direction-
The Tooling Direction is basically the direction that the mold pulls apart. The mold is built in two separate pieces, basically. You have a Cavity side and you have the Core side. The Core pulls apart from the Cavity and that's the Dyeline or the Tooling Direction.
Design consideration-
Class A surface-
In automotive design application Class A surfaces are created on all visible exterior surfaces (ex; body panels, bumper, grill, lights etc.) and all visible surfaces of see-touch & feel parts in interior (ex: Dashboard, seats, door pads etc.).
Class B surface-
The Class B finish is a quality finish with only minimal imperfections. A Class B finish is the most common finish for exterior surfaces. It is normally specified on surfaces such as external covers, panels, and parts that are fairly prominent.
Class C surface-
The Class C finish allows more imperfections than Class A or B. Class C is often specified for interior surfaces not readily visible, surfaces that will be covered by another part when assembled, or surfaces which the Customer feels do not need to meet a high cosmetic finish.
Closed surface-
Tree structure-
conclusion-
The model is succesfully completed as per the design requrements.
Hence the coin holder plastic component through the given class-A surface and created the required Tooling axis and performed the Draft analysis on the model and also for the solid model. so, this Draft Analysis feature is very useful to check the Draft angle and can check whether this part is make any problem while manufacturing the product. And the nominal Drafting angle is 3 Degree so we need to design the part with minimum of 3 Degrees of the Draft.
