Week 8 - Challenge 2 - Switch Bezel Design
AIM:- Create the Switch Bezel Plastic component through the given Class-A surface. To begin with, the tooling axis for the given Class-A Surface should be created meeting the requirements of the draft angle and at the end perform the Draft analysis on the model.
Tooling Axis Creation
Using the two side walls 1st axis is made by bisecting the side wall axis
As the 4th wall is not there, an assumption is made and the axis is taken which is 4 degrees from the horizontal axis.
Using the above two axis that we created are bisected to create a tooling axis .The red color line is tooling axis
Class A surface
Class B surface
creation of class B surface step by step
First using the Extract command the surface is extrated from class a and untrimed and exploded and then it is offseted ta a thickness of 2.5mm to create above surface
then the side surfaces are extracted from class a and untrimed and exploded and then trimed and then offseted at 2.5mm
Then both the trimed together
then fillet is given to form above final class B surface
Class C surface
Creation of class c surface step by step
It is created by multi extracting the boundary of class A surface and then making it smooth by spline and then sweeping it ( angle 3 degree) and extracting the edges and then triming it to created B surface
Creation of Trim of AC
final surface element
The trim Ac are trim with B surafe to create above final surface
The final component is made using close surface command and the thickness of the component is 2.5mm as given in the challenge
Draft Analysis of class A surface
1.1 Draft Analysis of class A surface with draft angle 3mm with red patches and uneveness
1.2 Draft analysis of final class A surface (Updated final Class A surface without uneven red patches) draft angle 2.7
Draft Analysis of final plastic component
1.1 Draft Analysis of final plastic component with draft angle 3mm with red patches and uneveness
1.2 Draft analysis of (Updated final plastic component without uneven red patches) draft angle 2.7
