Week 8 - Challenge 1 - Base Bracket Design
AIM:- Create the Base Bracket Plastic component through the given Class-A surface. To begin with, the tooling axis for the given Class-A Surface should be created meeting the requirements of the draft angle and at the end perform the Draft analysis on the model.
CLASS A SURFACE:-
A point was created at the center of the large circle, Using that axis system is inserted
Tooling axis
Using the ZX plane an intersection is to be made.
Two lines need to be created from the points-take any two of the incline lines as reference,
create a main tooling axis using bisecting line in this case the tooling axis is red dotted line
Class B surface
Now creating Class B Surface:
Intially extracting the right side rib using extract option from Class A surface.
Then perform Extrapolate inorder to increase the length
Now trim the surfaces to required surfaces
Then Offset the surface inorder to get the required thickness (2.5)
Similary create the left side rib
Now Similarly get the slanted as well as the flat surface and offset it to desired value
And now trim inorder to get the required surface
Now fillet the surface to required amount
Class c surface
Create the outer surface by boundary and sweep and also create circular hole using boundary and sweep
Then above image is the join of A and C that is join AC
Closed surface
above image show the final trim of the final plastic body created by trim/joining (Join AC)and Class B
The final plastic body trim is created into solid using solid surface command
1.Draft analysis of Class A Surface
The draft angle for class a surface is 3
2.1Draft analysis of solid plastic body with unevenness red patches
2.2Draft analysis of final solid plastic body(Updated final surface without uneven red patches) draft angle 2.7
The draft angle for final plastic body is taken 2.7 to remove red uneven marks
