Draft analysis and Closed Surface were designed using Class A surface as input.
The Draft angle was kept at 3 degrees and tested on the surface with respect o the tooling axis before designing the Class B and Class C surfaces. The tooling axis was designed in the Z-Axis after analyzing the Class A surface keeping pointers like the ease of feature tooling, side parts, and parting line in mind.
For this part, the tooling axis is defined as the bisecting line of the two features of the part that has the maximum deviation from the Z-Axis. This was done to ensure minimum resistance upon part retrieval as the core and cavity are removed. The draft analysis proved that a minimum draft of 3 degrees is maintained on all required faces of the part.
