Week 10- Assembly Workbench

Report :

The given input draft drawings were used as a reference to create the individual solid bodies. Each separate solid body was made with boolean operations to devise a final design. The individual bodies were then imported into the product in Catia where they were assembled.

The assembly process is to define properties like co-incidence, offset and contact with the help of reference geometries created for each body. Carefull consideration must be given whilst choosing the required property to mate two bodies as the bodies might undergo changes in geometry in the future. Therefore reference must be taken from such geometry that will remain redundant to changes, or such that the resulting property will solve itself if geometry shifts in the future. Finally, a reference or a 'zero' coordinte must be created for the assembly so that after mating, all bodies are referenced from the same coordinates. This reference should be fixed w.r.t the assembly.
