OBJECTIVE:
Create a tetra mesh for housing component with thw given quality criteria.
PROCEDURE:
MODEL 1:
Import the given geometry from the import geometry option.
The geometry has two component, mesh them one by one.
In this model, we are gonna create 2D mesh and convert them into 3D mesh.
To craete mesh go to 2D panel and select automesh and select the surface and give element size and type of element as per given data, as we are gonna create 2D mesh select the element type as trias and create mesh.
Go to 2D and select quality index to check minimun and maximum length.
After element checking, go to 3D panel and select tetramesh and select the elements under 2D baffle elements, select the displayed elements and mesh.
After creating 3D elements, check tet collapse if any were present, for that go to tool select check elements and find tet collapse and save failed elements and mask those elements by clicking retrive.
In order to remove the tet collapse, there are two methods to remove tet collapse. First method is clear all the tet collapse manually by translate the nodes or increasing or decreasing the node distance. Second method is tetra remesh, for thar set tetramesh parameters in 3D panel tetramesh as per given element criteria and do tetra remesh.
MODEL 2:
For this model we have to create quick tetra mesh or volume tetra mesh as per given element criteria.
To create quick tetra mesh, go to menu bar and click view <<browsers << hypermesh << utility. In utility select Quick tetra mesh in main tool bar and select the component and give element size and type and mesh. It will create 2d mesh on the surface and and create 3D by clicking OK button in the notification of attempting 3D mesh on the geometry screen.
To create volume tetra mesh, go to tetramesh on the 3D panel, select volume tetra and select the solids under enclosed volumes and tick the use oroximity and use curvature to get a dood mesh on the fillet and and corved areas and mesh.
In order to clear tet collapse, do the same procedure explained in the model 1.
MODEL 3:
This is a assembly model. We have to mesh them one by one.
Do the same procedure explained in the Model 2.
RESULT:
We learned to create 3D mesh by 2D to 3D conversation oor Quick tetra mesh / volume tetra mesh. Also leaned how to clear all the tet collapse by manualy or tetra remesh method.
