Objectives:
To create 1D element on the given component with given cross-section and DOF using Hypermesh.
a. Rod element:- Translational DOF should be Constrained with RBE2 link
Cross-Section: BOX- Dimension a= 12 mm
dimension b=10 mm
Thickness t= 0.75 mm
b. Beam element:- All DOF should be constrained with RBE3 link
Cross-Section: I Section- Dimension a= 8 mm
Dimension b= 10 mm
Dimension c= 8.5 mm
Thickness t1= 0.75 mm
Thickness t2= .6 mm
Thickness t3= .6 mm
c. Bar element:- Constrain only x and y DOFs With RBE3 link
Cross-section: X section- Dimension DIM1= 5 mm
Thickness DIM2= 1.2 mm
Dimension DIM3= 10 mm
Thickness DIM4= 1.2mm
d. & e. Apply the mass of magnitude 10 with the RBE2 link
f. Join the two components with Spring elements
Procedure:
1.Download the model & import the model from import geometry and select IGES ,then import the geometry as shown in fig.
2.Create the mid surface for the given component.
[Command:Geometry>Mid surface> Auto extraction> surface>Extract]
3.Select the material and properties as shown below,
4.Go to the geometry tool>quick edit>washer split>offset =5.0.
5.Now mesh the component.
[Command: 2D>automesh>element size =5.0.]
6.Create rbe2 & rbe3 element.
[Command:1D>rigid>calculate>create nodes]
7.Create rod,bar and beam element .
[Command:1D > bar>Node A>node B>Property>element type>cbar>orintation >vector].
[Command:1D > beam>Node A>node B>Property>element type>cbeam>orintation >vector].
[Command:1D > rod>Node A>node B>Property>element type>crod].
[Command:1D > Hyperbeam> standard section> create].
BAR
BEAM
ROD
8.Create mass with magnitude =10.
[Command:1D>masses>mass=10>property>element type >cmass1>create]
9.Attach the two component by using spring tool.
[Command:1D>element type>celas1>property]
10.Final component are shown below,
Conclusion:
We create the mid surface of the geometry and then mesh the geometry.Create the rod,bar and beam as per the given data. Also creating the mass element with magnitude 10. And join the two bracket with spring tool.
