AIM/OBJECTIVE
To mesh the given model for a target length of 1mm, 3mm and 5mm respectively. CHeck for the geometrical error and perform topology cleanup accordingly. Use the element type tria.
PROCEDURE
Srep-1 : Load the given file in ANSA software
Step-2 : Check the geometry of the model using Checks Manager
Step-3 : Once the errors are obtained take necessary steps to rectify it. Use fill hole and faces new option to rectify the errors. For meshing and CFD the given model should be a closed one.
Step-4 : Check the geometry again for the errors. If any error persist rectify it. If triple cons are in the error make use it is necessary or not
Step-5 : Unwanted small surfaces are removed for better meshing results. Faces cuts option is used to remove small and unwanted surfaces.
Step-6 : Again check for geometrical errors using checks manager
Step-7 : Using property manager PID's are assigned to the various parts of the model
Step-8 : Meshing is done with element type of tria and mesh length of 1mm, 3mm and 5mm. Target length of the mesh is altered in mesh property manager for the various mesh length.
LEARNING OUTCOMES
By doing the above meshing of the model following tools were able to practise and understand
1. Geometry checks manager to check the errors
2. Creating new faces and surfaces using fill hole and faces new tool
3. Removing small and unwanted surfaces using face cut tool
4. Assigning PIDs to the various parts of the model
5. Surface isolating tools sunch as OR, AND, NOT, !NOT, ALL, INVERT, LOCK, NIEGHB was used
6. Visibilty tools such as Macros, Cross etc are used in the process
7. Various other tools such as ENT, PID, SHADOW, WIRE etc were also used in the excercise
8. Meshing tool were used for meshing the model forthree diffrent mesh length
RESULT
These are the meshing result
Mesh length : 1mm
Mesh length : 3mm
Mesh length : 5mm
CONCLUSION
Meshing of the given model was carried out in ANSA software for mesh length of 1mm, 3mm and 5mm. By comparing the three meshing results it was observed that the smaller the mesh length, higher accuracy of the meshing is achieved. Number of the elements also varies according to the meshing length. Hence aaccuracy of the meshing is indirectly proportional to the length of the mesh. Tools required for developing meshing in ANSA was studied in this excercise.

Project 2 - 3D CFD modelling of Air cooling system and liquid cooling system for battery thermal management
1. Comparative study of thermal performance of air-cooled and liquid-cooled battery modules:- Air-cooled module:- The temperature distribution over the module surface with the air-cooling system at the end of the discharge process. The flow rate and temperature of the air at the inlet of the cooling system are 3 L/s and…

Week 1: Channel flow simulation using CONVERGE CFD
Introduction: Channel flow is an internal flow in which the confining walls change the hydrodynamic structure of the flow from an arbitrary state at the channel inlet to a certain state at the outlet. The simplest illustration of internal flow is a laminar flow in a circular tube, while a turbulent flow in the rotor of…

Project 1 - 1d modelling of liquid cooling system
Problem Description: we have a cooling plate mounted with 2 modules, each containing multiple cells. The flow pattern indicates that water is used as the coolant, flowing from a tank of limited capacity. The goal is to analyze the thermal behavior of the system, including plotting the top and bottom module temperatures,…
