Sketching the G+1 floor residential plan satisfing the vaastu shastra and calulating the load acting on the building with giving the information of the required drawings.
Opening is provided above the ground level for the aesthetic look
All doors are inwards
i. Main door is facing the north direction
ii. Toilets are not placed near the kitchen
iii. Dining area is near to kitchen far from main door
iv. Bedrooms are placed in southwest and south east where north east is avoided
v. All rooms are rectangle in shape
vi. Centre house is kept empty
vii. Kitchen is placed in south east direction
viii. Toilet is in north west
ix. Livingroom is in north west
x. No overhanging beams are allowed to rooms
xi. Pooja room is placed at east
Required drawings
I. centre line drawing
II. footing and column layout with reinforcement details
III. column schedule with reinforcement details
IV. plinth beam layout with reinforcement details
V. first floor beam layout with reinforcement details
VI. first floor slab layout with reinforcement details
VII. lift pit and headroom reinforcement details
Load calculations
Specify the assumed size of the rooms.
- All columns are 300mm x 300mm
- All beams are 300mm x 450mm
- Slab thickness if 125mm
- The height of the wall is 3m
• Dead loads
A. Column
the height of the column as 3 m
Dead load of the column of size 0.3*0.3*3
Total volume of the column
= 0.3*0.3*3
= 0.27 m^3
Unit weight of concrete = 25KN/m^3
Dead load of column
= unit weight of concrete * volume of concrete
= 25 KN/m^3 * 0.27m^3
= 6.75 KN
B. Beams
Total C/S area of the BEAM
= 0.3*0.45
= 0.135m^2
Unit weight of concrete = 25KN/m^3
Dead load of column
= unit weight of concrete * area of concrete
= 25 KN/m^3 * 0.135m^2
= 3.375 KN/m
C. Slabs
Dead load of a slab of 125mm thickness
Unit weight of concrete = 25KN/m^3
self-weight of the slab
= unit weight of concrete * thickness of concrete
= 25 KN/m^3 * 0.125m
= 3.125 KN/m^2
D. walls
Height of wall 3m
Dead load of a wall of 300mm thickness
Unit weight of brick wall = 20KN/m^3
self-weight of the wall
= unit weight of brick wall * thickness of wall*height of wall
= 20 KN/m^3 * 0.3m * 3m
= 18 KN/m
vaastu shastra
1. Gateway ( Entrance ) of the house:
2. living room :
3. Bed room :
4. Pooja room :
5. Kitchen :
6. Study room :
7. dining room :
8. Guest room :
9. Courtyard :
BASIC PRINCIPLES OF VAASTU SHASTRA :
shape : Rooms should be perfectly and preferably square or rectangular .
Room basics : Room should be airy, well lightened, bright and cleaned.
Home basics : Centre of the house should be an empty space
Stairs and furniture : Heavy furniture should be kept in south direction.
Water : Avoid plants and water features in the bedroom .
Mirror placement : Mirror facing the bed is strictly not allowed. mirrors in the bed room should be placed such as way that bed cannot be seen.
Aspicious direction as per Vaastu Shastra :
kitchen : SOUTH-EAST is best, NORTH-EAST to be avoided.
staircase : SOUTH-WEST is best, NORTH-EAST is avoided.
Toilet : NORTH-WEST is best, NORTH-EAST to be avoided.
master bedroom : SOUTH-WEST is best.
Guest room : NORTH-WEST is best,
Living room : NORTH-WEST is best,
Over-head tank : WEST is best.
Underground tank : NORTH-EAST is best, SOUTH-WEST is to be avoided.
LIVE LOAD CALCULATIONS :
According to IS 875 Part 2
Bed room = 2 KN/m^2
Living room = 2KN/m^2
Bath = 2 KN/m^2
Terrace = 3 KN/m^2
Toilet = 2 KN/m^2
Staircase = 3 KN/m^2
Study room = 2 KN/m^2
Kitchen = 2 KN/m^2
WIND LOAD CALCULATION :
Wind load is designed only when the height of building exceeds 10m.
the hight of building
is 6.5m which is less than 10m.
