7 ANSWER:
From the given question:
a)HEIGHT LIMITATION:
As per NBC 2005,clause C-2.5,the height of the building shall not exceed 15m(page.no.43)
Note that if the buildings up to height of 15m,there is no need to provide lifts
According to building model I had created ,its height is 5.8m i.e.,lessthan 15m.here my model follows NBC guidelines
b)AREA LIMITATION:
As per NBC C-2.3.1,page no.43
According to NBC 2005 ,the minimum plot size with ground coverage not exceeding 75 percentage, shall not be lessthan 40sq.m in small and medium town and not lessthan 30sq.m in metropolitan area.
According to building model I had created, the area occupied by the building model is greater than 40sq.m.i.e.,floor area of my model is 190sq.m
c)ROOM SIZING:
As per NBC 2005,C-3.3,Page no.43
The carpet area of multi purpose single room should be atleast 12.5sq.m
In a house of 2 rooms ,1st room shall not be lessthan 9sq.m with minimum width of 2.5m and second room shall not be lessthan 6.5 sq.m with a minimum width of 2.1m provided the total area of both the rooms is not lessthan 15.5 sq.m
According to building model I had created, number of rooms are 5 and total of rooms is 160.6sq.m,which is greater than the value specified in the code.Hence the building is safe
d)WALL HEIGHT:
According to NBC 2005:Clause F-3.4,the minimum height of rooms and spaces should be:
1)Habitable room-2.75m
2)Kitchen-2.6m
3)Bath/Water closet-2.2m
4)Corridors-2.1m
In case of sloping roof the average height of roofs for habitable rooms shall be 2.75m and the minimum height at eaves shall be 2.1m
According to building model I had created, height of wall is 2.5m which is greater than the minimum wall height specified in the code.Hence it obeys NBC code
e)THICKNESS BASED ON FIRE AND LIFE SAFETY:
The thickness for masonry walls is given by the table 2 of fire and life safety section of NBC 2005 as shown below
According to building model I had created, the wall thickness is 8'' which is greater than the specified value .
f)PASSAGE WAY REQUIREMENTS:
As per NBC 2005,table 1 as shown below
8 ANSWER :
AIM : To verify the numbers used in modeling the unit and to create a revised model
a.Height Limitations
b. Area Limitations
c. Room sizing
d. Wall height
e. Thickness based on fire life and safety
f. Passageway requirements
PROCEDURE:
RESULT:
a,Hence height of our building was 5.8m which is as per guidelines so that sunlight passes into your building
b.Hence area of bathroom should not be less than 1.8 sqm width should not be less than 1.2 m which is fine in my model
c.Hence room sizes are taken as given in NBC
d.Hence thickness is based on the fire safety
e.Hence passage way requirements are also perfect
