PROBLEM 1.
Aim :- To create the Kitchen layout plans as shown in the figure using AutoCAD.
Introduction :-
- The general commands used for the drawing are as follows :-
- Line
- Rectangle
- Circle
- Erase
- Copy
- Trim
- Arc
- Breakpoint
- Mirror
- Offset
- Extend
- Array
- Move
- Rotate
- Dimension
- Text
- Fillet
- Hatch
- Size of Doors and Windows are as followed :-
- Door 1 or D1 as 1000mm X 2100mm
- Door 2 or D2 as 1000mm X 2100mm
- Window 1 or W1 as 900mm X 1500mm
Procedure :-
- Open new file in AutoCAD and Type 'un' in command box and press enter.
- Change unit type to decimal and precision to 0.00 and insertion scale to millimeters.
Step 1 :- Creating Layers
- Type "LA" in the command box and press enter.
- Open layer properties and create new layers by clicking on new layer icon.
- The layers created are as follows :-

Step 2 :- Creating Below contour plan
- Type "rec" in the command box and press enter.
- Specify first corner point by selecting any point on the grid.
- Click on dimensions in command box.
- Specify length for rectangle as 4300 and press enter.
- Specify width for rectangle as 3200 and press enter and set the direction as first quadrant.
- Type "O" for offset and press enter.
- Specify offset distance as 230 and press enter.
- Select the rectangle drawn earlier and click inside of the rectangle.
- Type "Explode" in command box and press enter and explode both rectangles.
- Create door opening using Line and Trim command.
- Type "O" for offset and press enter.
- Specify offset distance as 600 and press enter.
- Select the bottom edge of inner rectangle and click on the top.
- Type "O" for offset and press enter.
- Specify offset distance as 40 and press enter.
- Select the last offsetted line and click on the top.
- Type "O" for offset and press enter.
- Specify offset distance as 35 and press enter.
- Select the line drawn earlier and click on right.
- Type "O" for offset and press enter.
- Specify offset distance as 900 and press enter.
- Select the last offset line and click on right.
- Type "O" for offset and press enter.
- Specify offset distance as 450 and press enter.
- Select the last offset line and click on right.
- Type "O" for offset and press enter.
- Specify offset distance as 900 and press enter.
- Select the last offset line and click on right.
- Type "O" for offset and press enter.
- Specify offset distance as 450 and press enter.
- Select the last offset line and click on right.
- Select the last offset line and click on right.
- Select the last offset line and click on right.
- Type "O" for offset and press enter.
- Specify offset distance as 630 and press enter.
- Select the last offset line and click on right.
- Type "O" for offset and press enter.
- Specify offset distance as 10 and press enter.
- Select the bottom edge of inner rectangle and click on top.
- Type "O" for offset and press enter.
- Specify offset distance as 20 and press enter.
- Select the line offset at 35 from left and click on right.
- Repeat the same procedure for all offset lines drawn above with the given offset distance.
- Create hob using rectangle and circle commands.
Creating Blocks :-
- Draw the fridge as shown in the question figure and convert it as block.
- Type "I" for insert command and press enter and insert the fridge block and place at the required space in the plan.
- Draw the Door D1 of size 1000mm X 2100mm as shown in the question figure and convert it as block.
- Type "I" for insert command and press enter and insert the D1 block and place at the required space in the plan.
- Similarly create the windows and convert it as blocks and save them with different names.
- Type "I" for insert command and press enter and insert the window blocks and place at the required space in the plan.

Step 3 :- Creating Above contour plan
- Follow the same steps done in the below contoure plan of kitchen.
- Just the offset distance are changed.
- Use the text command and type the required text.
- Choose the text style.


Step 4 :- Creating Hatch :
- Type "H" in the command box and press enter.
- Create the close area inside the wall thickness of given offset distance and create "Hatch".
- Select the type of hatch in hatch seting and see the preview.
- After finalizing close the hatch window.

PROBLEM 2.
Aim :- To Create the elevation of the plan created in the Challenge 7 and apply proper hatch in the walls, doors, windows, and other architectural elements using AutoCAD.
Introduction :-
- The Plan view of flat A and B of challenge week 7 is taken and by using projection lines elevation view is drawn as per the question figure from plan drawing.
- Hatching is to be done for the doors, windows and other architectural elements such as walls, columns etc.
- Dimensions and text are placed accordingly.
Procedure :-
- Open new file in AutoCAD and Type 'un' in command box and press enter.
- Change unit type to decimal and precision to 0.00 and insertion scale to millimeters.
Step 1 : Creating Layers
- Type "LA" in the command box and press enter.
- Open layer properties and create new layers by clicking on new layer icon.
- The layers created are as follows :-

Step 2 : Creating Elevation
- The Plan view of flat A and B of challenge week 7 is taken and by using projection lines elevation view is drawn as per the question figure from plan drawing.
- Take XL command and draw the projection as per the question.
- Use offset command for creating the lines.
- Use trim command for trimming the extra lines.
- Hatching is to be done for the doors, windows and other architectural elements such as walls, columns etc.
- Dimensions and text are placed accordingly.
- Use the line command to show the handgrills for balcony.
- Use the line command to show the chajjas.
- Use rectangle command to show the design to the parapet.
Step 3 : Creating Hatch
- Type "H" in the command box and press enter.
- Create the close area inside the wall thickness of given offset distance and create "Hatch".
- Select the type of hatch in hatch seting and see the preview.
- After finalizing close the hatch window.

- ELEVATION AFTER HATCHING :-
Aim :- To create the section view of an industrial building as shown in the question figure using AutoCAD.
Introduction :-
- The section view is of underground components of an industrial building is created.
- Underground of industrial building consists of pump room, manhole for filter feed, dust below the floor, fire pipe etc. Pump room is 5850mm below the ground.
- Level where as filter feed is 555O mm below the ground level.
- Floor thickness is given as 300mm.
- Hatching is done to the walls and slabs of underground structure
Procedure :-
- Open new file in AutoCAD and Type 'un' in command box and press enter.
- Change unit type to decimal and precision to 0.00 and insertion scale to millimeters.
Step 1 : Creating Layers
- Type "LA" in the command box and press enter.
- Open layer properties and create new layers by clicking on new layer icon.
- The layers created are as follows :-

Step 2 :- Creating Outer Walls
- Draw a horizontal Xline at any point on the screen.
- Offset the line to top to a distance of 5850mm.
- Offset the last offset line to a distance of 300mm to the top.
- Draw a vertical xline on any point on the top horizontal xline.
- Offset the line to right to a distance of 10635mm.
- Offset the last offset line to distance of 3900 to the right.
- Offset the last offset line to distance of 5740 to the right.
- Offset the last offset line to distance of 5025 to the right.
- Offset the left and right edges to a distance of 500mm to left and right respectively.
- Trim off the outer edges.
- Offset the bottom edge of the top floor to a distance of 30mm to the bottom.
- Offset the last off set line to a distance of 70mm to the bottom.
- Offset the last offset line to a distance of 100mm to the bottom.
- Draw the sprinkler pipe as shown in figure along with the duct pipe with given dimension and duct pipe th ickness is 300mm.
- Draw the man hole cover of 750mm wide at the right top edge of filter feed wall.

Step 4 :- Creating Hatching
Type "H" in command box and press enter and Click on settings in the command box.
- Select hatch and type as predefined.
- Select pattern as AR-CONC for the walls and colour as white.
- Set angle as 0 and scale as 1 as per the grid settings of drawing.
- Click on preview for checking the hatch.
- Press ok to assign the hatch.
- Select the regions of wall for hatch.
