Title of the Project: Advanced Sheet Metal Design Using NX Cad.
Objective: To design the sheet metal casing using NX CAD.
Introduction: Sheet metal is metal formed by an industrial process into thin, flat pieces. Sheet metal is one of the fundamental forms used in
metalworking, and it can be cut and bent into a variety of shapes. Countless everyday objects are fabricated from sheet metal. The sheet metal comes from various materials such as steel, aluminum, brass, titanium, etc. Sheet metals are widely used in Aircraft Bodies, Automobiles, Utensils used for domestic purposes, Beverage cans, etc.
In this project, using the advanced tools of NX sheet metal we have to create the casing with the given requirements.
Design Methodology:
Description:
The tools and features used are as below:
1. TAB: The command is used to create a base feature by extruding a sketch along a vector by a thickness value.
2.NORMAL CUTOUT: Cuts the model perpendicular to the sketch provided.
3.BEND: Modify the model by bending material on one side of the sketching material with a line as a reference.
4.FLANGE: This command creates a flange or extension on the edge of the body selected.
5.BREAK CORNERS: This commands round a sharp corner to avoid the manufacturing tool stopping a rigid motion.
6.UNBEND: It is used to flatten a bend to its reference surface.
7.HOLE: Used to create holes in the given body according to the size of the body and screw fit type.
8.DIMPLE: Lifts/Drops an area of the model to create a stamping/punch on the body.
9. BEAD: Lifts a material along a counter of a sketch to make a punch or stamp around it.
10.REBEND: Restores a bend from its flattened section to the original.
11.Flat pattern: Creates a flat pattern feature from the formed sheet metal part.

CONCLUSION:
We have successfully created the Casing with the given Drawing and procedure by using NX sheet metal tools and the drafting is also done.
