OBJECTIVE:
To generate the mid surface and geometry clean up on the plastic container component
To mesh the surfaces with proper mesh flow and qualifying quality parameters

PROCEDURE:
1. Defeature the surfaces: surface fillet and edge fillets and remove all fillets between 0-5mm.
2. Sectioning the whole component into 4 parts along the x and z-axis. from trim through planes command in surface edit.
3. separate the center ring into other component as it is the only unsymmetric surface in the component Also the cylinder is unsymmetric but can be dealt with some connectivity methods.
4. Delete the three halves.
5. extract the mid surface of the ring component and the quarter half of the component.
6.Perform manual mid surfacing in places where surface capturing is not as per parent geometry. Also, remove very small surfaces by replacing points to create a uniform surface.
7. Mesh with the given quality criteria.
[Note: The element size being too big for surfaces. This can be dealt with by scaling the component by 2 times then meshing.]
8. Check for element quality.
RESULT:
The mid surface and mesh generated is shown below
