AIM:- 3D Tetra Meshing :-
OBJECTIVE:-
Elements sizes: Min- 2 Units, Target- 5 Units, Max- 7 Units
Tet Collapse: 0.15
Target Element size: 3 Units.
Tet Collapse: 0.15
Target Element size: 4 Units.
Tet Collapse: 0.15
OBJECTIVE 1:
Create a Teramesh for Housing component with the following quality criteria.
Elements sizes: Min- 2 Units, Target- 5 Units, Max- 7 Units
Tet collapse: 0.15
Import the given model and check for any geometry error
In this model there are few missing surface like shown in the below image
Houshing model:-
Fill the surface by Surface option or quick edit> filler surface option, like shown in below image
Next step is to defeature some edges which might fail for minimum length quality criteria, like shown below|
Initially Mesh the surface using 2D tria elements
.Check quality
.Tet collpase = 0.082475
Mask
OBJECTIVE:-2
.For the given model, Create a 3D Tetramesh with the following quality criteria.
.Target Element size: 3 Units.
.Tet Collapse: 0.15
model 2
Import the geometry to the software
Look for any geometry error in the cad, this model contains few unstitched edges like shown below
.In this model there is no minimum and maximum element size criteria
.So used the volume tetramesh method to mesh the model
.The given model is surface, so used 3d>tetramesh>volume tetramesh> surface, gave the desired element size and gave tet collapse value in tetramesh parameter
.The given model is meshed and fixed all the tet collapse error
.Below image shows the final result
.Tet Collapse = 0.75434
Objective:-3
.For the given assembly model, Create a 3D Tetramesh with the following quality criteria.
.Target Element size: 4 Units.
.Tet Collapse: 0.15
.In this model there is no minimum and maximum element size criteria
.So used the volume tetramesh method to mesh the model
.The given model is surface, so used 3d>tetramesh>volume tetramesh> surface, gave the desired element size and gave tet collapse value in tetramesh parameter
.The given model is meshed and fixed all the tet collapse error
.Below image shows the final result
.Check quality
.Tet collapse = 0.073236

Week-6 Calculate the Stretch Ratio by comparing the ELFORM (-2,-1,1,2) with Ogden_Material Model.
AIM:-calculate the Stretch Ratio by comparing the ELFORM OBJECTIVE:- Create a block of 10mmx10mmx10mm dimension with 10 elements for each direction and use the material card attached (Ogden_Material.k) that is representative of the material properties from the above figure. Use appropriate boundary conditions to simulate…

Week - 5 - Modelling Spotwelds
AIM:-Modelling SpotweldsOBJECTIVE:-In this assignment, you will model spot welds for the given assembly of parts and run a crash test similar to the one in assignment 4. Details about the spotweld location is in the image below. The yellow line signifies the spotweld directions. You need to use 3-7 spot welds along this…

Week - 4 - Crash Box Simulation
AIM:- Crash Box Simulation OBJECTIVE:-In this assignment, the student needs to simulate a crash test for a crash box for which mesh is given. A crash box is a highly energy-absorbing structure that crashes on application of loads and reduces impact on other components nearby. A full-fledges crashbox is a highly sophisticated…
