1) What are HVAC systems? Why are they essential in the modeling of buildings
ANSWER:-
HVAC SYSTEMS :-
HVAC essential to modeling of building:-
2) From week 7 assignment, based on the building designed use the same Revit file to design a HVAC system for each floor to cover the topics included in the class.
a. Typical HVAC unit includes Distribution center
b. Collector
c. Ducts
d. Blower
Based on the layout choose appropriate ducts and elevation using property browser and assign the components to appropriate groups to complete modeling of the HVAC unit
PROCEDURE:-
RESULT:
The HVAC system has been designed successfully for each floor of the architectural building.
3) Use the add-ins tab to load plug-ins for robot structural analysis to your Revit software
AIM:
To load plugins for robot structural analysis to Revit software using the add-ins tab
INTRODUCTION:
Robot Structural Analysis Professional is structural load analysis software that verifies code compliance and uses BIM-integrated workflows to exchange data with Revit. It can help you to create more resilient, constructible designs that are accurate, coordinated, and connected to BIM.
Autodesk Robot Structural Analysis hosts a range of powerful FEM solvers enabling structural engineers to conduct complex calculations such as modal, harmonic, spectral, dynamic, non-linear, footfall analysis, and many more.
This comprehensive structural engineering design software solution allows enhanced BIM operability both within the AEC collection and other software enabling engineers to iterate and optimize their designs with full communication between packages ultimately streamlining the design process and allowing traceability of design changes along the way.
PROCEDURE:
4) Why do we need to assess buildings/analyze while modeling elements? Does design affect modeling in anyways?
ANSWER:-
5) From the structural model developed in week 6 and 7, export the complete analytical model to robot structural analysis.
a. List your assumptions on what boundary conditions will be realistic for the analysis approach
b. Use the design standards to decide what loads must be applied to floorings based on the type of structure decided
c. List the load combinations and include them in the analysis model
d. Analyze the building and report the following results
i. Maximum Moment in each floor for all Load Combinations
ii. Maximum Displacement in each floor for all Load combinations
iii. Lateral Displacement in building for all Lateral Load combinations
e. After analysis, do you think you have a better approach or idea in modeling structural members?
AIM:
To export the complete analytical model to robot structural analysis from the structural model developed in weeks 6 and 7
INTRODUCTION:
The analytical model represents a simplified version of the structural descriptive Revit model. Coming together to create an engineering model, the analytical model contains information such as the structural components, the geometry of the structure, cross-section of the structural elements, end conditions, material properties, and loads.
PROCEDURE:-
RESULT:
The Analytical model of the structural model that we developed in weeks 6 and 7 has been exported to the robot structural analysis successfully
6) What is energy analysis and why do we need to consider it while modeling in Revit?
How does the factor of sustainability improve the quality of your design?
ANSWER:-
Energy analysis is the process of analyzing a building's energy performance by calculating how well the integration of that building's form, systems, and envelope perform under the surrounding environmental conditions.
Four general principles of energy analysis:
Factor of sustainaibility imporves the quality of desing in the following ways:
Sustainable designs look to lower the negative impacts of the construction and also the building throughout its life cycle by implementing
