Aim:- To create a 3D rendered model for a residential building
Introduction:-
Floor Plan
- Floor plan is a type of drawing that shows the layout of a home or property from above
- Planning of a building gives the idea about the building how the building will be done in future
- Planning plays an important role in the civil engineering because without this planning we can't determine structural element
- Planning may be residential, public or commercial building
Elevation:-
- It's used to see the view of a building in a software before the construction
AutoCAD:-
It is essential to draft the geometry
The different tools required in this drafts are line (L), fillet (F), offset (O), Hatching (H) and Hatch edit (HE), trim (TR), Extrude (EXT), 3D Move (3DM), 3D Orbit (3DO), 3D Rotate (3DROTATE), Subtract (SUB), Solid edit (SOLIDEDIT), Loft (LOFT), Rectangle (REC), Circle (C), Boundary (BO), Render (RR).
Procedure:-
- Go to start menu, click on Start drawing
- Type stratup (Enter) in command line
- Enter the new value of start up:1
- Go to application menu and select new or type new in command line
- In the "create new drawing" dialogue box contains imperial type of systems and metric type of system
- We select the metric system in the "start from scratch" option
- After that in Advance setup option select the decimal unit system in the units
The above procedure should be followed every time when the new sheet is opened
Entering the start up command in the command line

Entering the value 1 for the start up
When we go to the new file then we get this file select the metric from start from scratch
Then advance setup setting should be done by clicking OK
Keep the units in decimal and adjust precision then click next

Keep angle in decimal degree and adjust precision then click next
Select the angle measurement in east and click on next

Select angle direction in counter clockwise and click on next

Keep the width as 12m and length of 9m as default and click on finish
Aim:- To draft the plan of a given building by using AutoCAD

Plan
Procedure to Plan:-
By using direct distance entry method
- Here all the units are in Engineering (feet and inches)
- Select the construction line tool by entering XL (Enter) in the command line
- Select the vertical line and place it any where on the screen
- Next by using a same command (construction line) select horizontal line and place it on the screen
- Dimesion of the building is 20'x60'
- Take a offset of 9" for the outer wall from the vertical line
- Take a offset of 9" for the outer wall from the horizontal line
To get Master bedroom
- Take a offset of 10'-0" left side from the 9" line to get inner wall in -ve x-direction
- Take a offset of 12'-0" downwards from the 9" outer wall horizontal line -ve y-direction
- Trim off unwanted lines inside the rooms
To get dressing room, toilet and general bathroom
- Take a offset of 4.5" left side from the 10'-0" line to get inner wall in -ve x-direction
- Take a offset of 4'-1.5" left side from the 4.5" line to get inner wall in -ve x-direction
- Take a offset of 3'-7.5" downwards from the 9" outer wall horizontal line -ve y-direction to get dressing room
- Take a offset of 4.5" from the 3'-7.5" wall to get a interior wall
- Take a offset of 6'-0" downwards from the 4.5" outer wall horizontal line -ve y-direction to get toilet room
- Take a offset of 4.5" from the 6'-0" wall to get a interior wall
- Take a offset of 8'-0" downwards from the 4.5" outer wall horizontal line -ve y-direction to get general bathroom
- Trim off unwanted lines inside the rooms
Passage
- The remaining area is passage area which has a width of 4'-1.5"

Plan of Master bedroom, Dressing room, A.batroom, G.bathroom and Passage
To get bedroom
- Take a offset of 4.5" from the 4'-1.5"wall to get a interior wall
- Take a offset of 10'-0" left side from the 4'-1.5" line to get inner wall in -ve x-direction
- Take a offset of 10'-0" downwards from the 8'-0" wall which is a general bathroom wall horizontal line -ve y-direction
- Trim off unwanted lines inside the rooms
To get Living room
- Take a offset of 14'-6" left side from the 9" line to get inner wall in -ve x-direction
- Take a offset of 4.5" from the 10'-0" wall to get a interior wall
- Take a offset of 15'-7.5" downwards from the 4.5" wall which is a general bathroom wall horizontal line -ve y-direction
- Trim off unwanted lines inside the rooms
To get store room and pooja room
- Take a offset of 3'-7.5" left side from the 9" line to get inner wall in -ve x-direction
- Take a offset of 4.5" from the 3'-7.5" wall to get a interior wall
- Take a offset of 4'-1.3" downwards from the 4.5" wall which is a living room wall horizontal line -ve y-direction to get store room
- Take a offset of 4.5" from the 3'-7.5" wall to get a interior wall in +ve x-direction
- Take a offset of 4'-0" left side from the 4.5" line to get inner wall in +ve x-direction
- Take a offset of 4'-0" right side from the 4.5" line to get inner wall in -ve y-directio
- Trim off unwanted lines inside the rooms

Plan of Passage, Bed room, Living room, Store room, Pooja room
To get kitchen
- Take a offset of 10'-0" left side from the 9" line to get inner wall in -ve x-direction
- Take a offset of 10'-0" downwards from the 4.5" inner wall horizontal line -ve y-direction
- Trim off unwanted lines inside the rooms
To get a parking
- Take a offset of 4.5" from the kitchen in +ve x-direction
- Again take a offset of 4'-10.5" from the 4.5" kitchen wall
- Take a offset of 9" from 15'-7.5" wall which is near the living room in -ve y-direction
- Take a offset of 9'-9" from the 9" wall which is near the living room in -ve y-direction

Plan
Procedure to 3D
- Take a boundary command (BO) pick up the regions which has to be extrude
- Use a extrude command to extrude the wall upto a height of 10'-0"
- Extrude the external and internal wall up to 10'-0" with their respective layers
- Substract the door, window and ventilator portion
- Use a rotate command, to rotate the geometry
- Change the view to top/bottom/left/right/front when ever necessary
