INTRODUCTION
An automobile's fender is an essential component of both its external appearance and operation. Fenders serve a variety of purposes above the wheels, including protection, aerodynamics, style, safety, and structural support. They serve the dual purposes of protecting the wheel wells and undercarriage from small impact damage and extending the life of essential parts. Fenders also improve fuel economy and overall performance by directing airflow around the wheels, which increases the vehicle's aerodynamic efficiency. Fenders contribute significantly to the vehicle's appearance in addition to their usefulness; they are frequently designed to blend in with the overall design aesthetic. Modern fenders are designed to absorb impact energy in order to protect both pedestrians and vehicle occupants in the case of an accident.They also give the car's body structural reinforcement, which guarantees stiffness and stability. Usually made of steel, aluminium, or composite materials, fenders are painted to blend in with the exterior of the car, adding to its overall aesthetic appeal. Ultimately, an automobile's fender is an example of how form and function may coexist, fusing functionality with sophisticated style.
PURPOSE OF FENDER
The primary purpose of a fender on a car is to protect the wheel wells, undercarriage, and other vulnerable components from road debris, dirt, rocks, and water kicked up by the rotating wheels.
TYPES OF FENDER
1. FULL BUMPER TYPE
Vehicle models from the past employed these kinds of fenders. By only covering the front lights in relation to the bumper area, they significantly increase the steel weight. This type of fender has the drawback that there is a lot of waste in the blank and that the company must pay for every inch of material used.
2.HALF BUMPER TYPE
These fenders are primarily used to reduce costs by taking out a sufficient amount of the steel wait, which helps to slightly decrease the vehicle's weight.

DRIP AREA MOUNTING
The term "mounting in the drip area" describes the method of fender attachment in this area.When mounting in the drip region, fasteners like bolts, screws, or clips are typically used to secure the lower portion of the fender to the vehicle's body. A - PILLAR MOUNTING AREA

In case of an accident or rollover, the A-pillar helps preserve the integrity of the car's cabin and offers structural support to the roof. The part of a fender that fastens to the A-pillar is known as the A-pillar mounting region. Maintaining the structural integrity of the A-pillar and ensuring that the fender is properly aligned with the rest of the vehicle's body depend on this area.
SILL MOUNTING AREA
The section of a fender where it attaches to the vehicle's sill is called the sill mounting area. The structural element that runs the length of the car's underbelly and beneath the doors is called the sill.Some automobiles, especially trucks and older models, may have a fender that extends down to the sill straight. This section is essential for preserving the fender's alignment and structural integrity since it supports the weight of the fender and makes sure it is fastened to the car firmly.Much like the mounting techniques applied to the fender's edges, attaching the fender to the sill usually requires the use of bolts, screws, or clips.
BUMPER AREA MOUNTING
The part of the fender that fastens to the vehicle's bumper is referred to as the bumper area mounting. This region is essential for preserving the front end of the car's structural integrity and general aesthetics, as well as for making sure the fender is attached to the bumper correctly. To guarantee that the fender stays firmly fixed to the car and does not obstruct the bumper or other parts of the front end of the car, alignment and attachment in the bumper area are crucial.
BAFFLE AND SPLASH MOUNTING AREA
The part of the fender intended to attach to splash guards, wheel well liners, or other protective elements to keep water, dirt, and debris out of the engine compartment and other vulnerable areas of the car is called the baffle and splash mounting area on an automobile. Here, mounting involves using fasteners like bolts, screws, or clips to attach the fender to these protecting elements. For these protective components to stay firmly fixed to the fender and preserve the integrity and cleanliness of the car's engine compartment and undercarriage, the baffle and splash mounting area are essential.
