In this project, you are being assigned a task to select a suitable rollbar for a light sports vehicle and come up with an understeer budget. The rollbar diameter selection and the understeer budget should comply with vehicle level targets like roll gradient and understeer gradient.
You will come up with a detailed excel sheet that gives the appropriate numbers of the roll bar selection and understeer budget.

Vehicle performance while cornering plays a vital role in the racing events, racers prefer understeer / oversteer depending on their comfortableness. If you provide oversteer, the rear wheels will loss its grip from the road and turning takes place in a shorter span of time, but this will results in skidding so the driver should handle it carefully, it depends on the skill of the driver. In case of understeer, the time taken by the vehicle to turn around a corner will be comparatively high and radius of the turn will also be high, it is comparatively safer than over steer. In order to get this desired understeer/oversteer effect, we have to design the suspension parameters according, there are various parameters that contributes to understeer, example: weight distribution,roll steer, roll camber,etc.. In this project, we will mathematically model all the contributors of understeer and plot the understeer budget chart to visualise its effect.
