In this project you will be given with the real-time experimental PSD data of the road, you will write a Matlab/ Octave code to plot the PSD profile of the road. The obtained PSD plot of the given data will be superimposed on the ISO chart to find the road quality. By doing this, you will classify the road according to International Standard Organisation(ISO) .

Road roughness is the measure of longitudinal irregularities of road surface from the true reference plane, it plays a vital role in ride comfort and performance of the vehicle in terms of maintenance cost ,reduced speed and durability. Poor roads will increase the fuel consumption, travel time and there will be more wear in spare parts of the vehicle.In other words due to the irregular road surface, fatigue stress will act on the vehicle subsystem. Thus road roughness has to measured periodically, to avoid the above mentioned consequences of the poor road.
