AIM:
To extract Proper Mid surface and Perform Proper mesh flow in The given Hood model with given quality criteiras.
PROCEDURE:
1. An New optistruct file was created in Hypermesh and the Model was imported By Import option inh the geometry pannel.
2.The Given model/component was been divided in to 5 parts as per prespectives Inner body, Outer body, Hinges and latch reinforcement.
3. Mid surface created for each Body seperately using Mid surface Option in the geometry pannel and renamed according to criteria.
4. Geometry clean up was performed both automatically and manually in Mid surfaces and washer split was created in respective areas to avoid element failing.
5.the 2D mesh was generated first in The Inner Body. As the Inner body was quiet symetrical It was divided in to two halves so that the mesh could be performed easily.
6. Target elemnt size and other qulaity conditiond were given in The check elements dialouge box(F10)
7.After the mesh generated in one half it was reflected in the adjacent side using reflect option, In the tool pannel.select the elements in one half>Duplicate the elements>choose reflect option>select the Axis as to be reflected > choose Base or centere >and click reflect. As the mesh will be reflected in The adjacent side.
8.As Mentioned above The outer body was divided in to two halves By using Mask option. and the mesh is generated acoording to the given element Size and criteria.
9.The mesh Created in one half is reflected tom the Adjacent Body using Reflect option. As mentioned above
10. The two wdges after Reflecting are Joined Using equvalence option in edges in the tool Pannel. for avoiding free edges in the middile of the body.
11. The 2D Mesh is genertaed Same as like mentioned criteria in Both Hinge Reinforcement. Either the Mesh Can be created Individually in Both Bodies or It can be reflected As same as well.
13. And Finally The 2D mesh was generated in Latch reinforcement too according to the given Quality conditions.
14. After Generating the 2D meshes in each component Quality Check should be done as the Elements should lie in the given criteria and respective,Taper,Skewness, MIn and Max angles for Trias and Quads,Jacobian, and Warpage must be checked Whether its lying within given Quality conditions.
15. After all these the duplicate surfaces must be deleted and check whether the mesh is lying in proper manner as per the given conditons.
CONCLUSION:
BY this i've gained respective and hands on knowledge in 2D meshing and How to perform geometry clean up Manuallly in Some conditions and Editing the elements according to the given criteria. And hood is the hinged part in Front of cars that is used to Cover engine parts and other parts naturally.
PS: i've attached my model down, AS the nodes in the model are exceeding than the limit The file couldn't be saved ,so for saving the file i've deleted elements in the iiner body in a symetrical surface.as the complete meshed surface image was attached above.
