Week 4, Task 1-:
Objective- My objective of the task is to create control logic of washing machine using
stateflow.
Condition- For the activation of the system we need power supply and for running the
machine we need water supply. Both of the things are compulsory. If the water supply will
be stop during the process then process will be automatically stop by giving red indication.
There are four important stages of the machine which are Soaking for 200 sec, Washing for
100 sec, Rinsing for 20 sec, Dryer for 50 sec.
After the completion of the project a green indication will glow for finishing of the process.
Project Description- For the completion of this project i have used Chart. Inside the chart i
have created some stages.
Power supply stage, water supply stage, Soaking, Washing, Rinsing, Dryer then finish.
In this stages my power supply and my water supply stage will work as an input stage in
Symbols pane. And rest of them will work as an output stage in Symbols pane.
Then i have connected the arrows as per my process with proper justification of time value.
I have taken power supply as the first stage then it is connected to the water supply then
Soaking, Washing, Rinsing, Dryer and at the last finish.
But the logic is like when from power supply to finish stage if power supply and water
supply is healthy then process will be True. It means u=1 & x=1.
And if any one of them will fail it means power supply and water supply then process will be
false. It means u=0 & x=o.
Now the Chart is connected with some input and output.
For the input as a power supply we have taken the constant value and water supply also as a
constant value. The value of the constant block is one if want to make it false then made it 0.
Then these stages which are Soaking, Washing, Rinsing, Dryer and finish will work as an
output which is connected to the scope.
I have connected two lamps, one as an indication for successfully completion of the process
which is connected to the finish point and another one as an indication of water supply
failure.
Observation- My observation is initially for both the condition will be true which is power
supply and water supply then the process will move to next step which is soaking for 200 sec
then Washing for 100 sec then Rinsing for 20 sec then Dryer for 50 sec and at the last Finish
which is the significance of proper process done. If we create a false signal for them it means
the constant value of power supply becomes zero then process will stop. Also if we make the
water supply constant 0 then process will stop with red indication which define the failure
of water supply.
I have created simulink model at where firstly i have disabled the power supply, in
Second model i have disabled water supply and in last i have disabled both of them.

Week 4 Task2-
Objective- In this task i am creating gear shift chart in which i will control the speed and
represent the gear shift as per the speed.
Condition- At gear 1- Speed range 0-15kmph
At gear 2- Speed range 16-25kmph
At gear 1- Speed range 26-40kmph
At gear 1- Speed range 41-60kmph
At gear 1- Speed range above 61kmph
Work Description- In this task i am creating a chart in which i have created some stages.
The stage will start as an input speed or speed reference then it follow by some gear shift
which are Gear 1, Gear 2, Gear 3, Gear 4, Gear 5 at different speed ranges which are made
at the model.
So i have created stages as per the gear with respect to speed ranges. In this model we have
six output where 5 nos gear shifts along with engine off. And one no input which is Speed
reference. I have created this chart and connected scope to determine the gear behaviour as
a graph.
The input of the chart will be a constant which will work as a speed reference. I have
connected the constant by Slider. By Slider we can give the command to the constant which
will affect the gear range.
Observation- In this project i have created stages as per gear shift and speed range. Also in
the stage i have created a syntax which define the condition. For exp- For gear 1 the speed
range will be 0-15kmph. The syntax is entry=1 which is true for the signal and exit =0 which
means speed range is not between 0-15. so it will shift to another gear position. We can see it
inside the scope as well.
So by slider we can change the speed range and by given syntax and condition it will fall at
a gear position if it will be.
