UNDERBODY COATINGS

Underbody coatings provide a durable, corrosion resistant underbelly for the cars. It provides protections against gravels, corrosion and chipping of paint. Coatings in general confront an almost limitless variety of environments and environmental assaults, to avoid these threats and protect the car’s integrity underbody coatings are provided

Coating process takes place in different steps which is depicted in the picture below

MATERIALS

Different materials are used in underbody coating

1. Polyurethane sealants
2. Wax based sealants
3. Rubberized sealants
4. Asphalt based undercoating

ADVANTAGES

1. Protection against corrosion
2. Lessens the vibrations
3. Protects vital components
4. Prevents chipping of paint

DISADVANTAGES

Proper care should be taken so that coating doesn't mix with any natural element and cause hazards.
