Underbody Coating
UNDERBODY COATING
Underbody coating is a thick cladding that is placed uniformly to the car underside. The main purpose to use underbody is it provide a long term protection from corrosion to cars underbody. It also protects the parts like internal body, panel, frame, rails and other inner cavities that are not physically accessible but are prone to corrison. Under body coating also extends the life value of your vehicle.
Underbody coating provides long term protection from corrosion to car's underbody. It also protects parts like internal body panels, frame rails and other inner cavities that are not physically accessible but are prone to corrosion.
Protecting the underbelly of the car should be our top priority. Especially during monsoon when heavy precipitation causes the roads to become mini-rivers and our cars are left stranded there. This makes them prone to heavy corrosion in the underbody region.
It protect the under body subtract
- Environment condition
- prevent from rust
- to hide welds, repairs and body with spray
- Impact
- Protect against corrosion
- Protect from scratch and dent
Type of under body coating
There are various types of underwater coating in automotive industry
Rubberized underbody coating

This can be done at the authorized service center or by the local repair shop at a reasonable price. Rubberized coating is ideal if you want to keep the road noise to a minimum and rust and corrosion away.

It is best suited for lorries trucks and large vehicle this provides a great degree of protection as compared to rubber based under body coating
This coating also contain little amount of rubber that helps to reduce a noise sound from the engine it has the most damage resistance property it is last long and its best for endurance vehicles that have to under heavy road use.
Suitable for lorries, trucks, and other heavy vehicles. In comparison to rubber-based coatings, this gives a higher level of protection. Asphalt-based coatings, on the other hand, incorporate a small quantity of rubber for sound insulation. The application of this coating, however, takes some time.

Polyurethane Underbody Coating
This coating closes up splits and fractures on the underbody of the vehicle. It offers up good protection against corrosion and also bonds with the metal. Unlike in the case of asphalt-based coating, you can paint over the polyurethane coating
This coating is used for outdoor jackets; providing them with a protective film that makes them waterproof. Why is PU used? PU makes garments completely waterproof, durable and more resistant to damage.
The water uptake of the polyurethane SMP foams characterized in this work increased with increased humidity exposure time, increased humidity, and increased temperature. The maximum water uptake was 8%, which occurred after exposure to 100% humidity for 96 h at room temperature and for 20 h at 37 °C.

Benefits:
- It minimizes the sound from underneath the car resulting a noiseless, smooth driving experience.
- It insulates the interior of the car from extreme temperatures from beneath the vehicle providing a comfortable cabin experience.
- If any stone hits the coating it does not get chipped away hence protects the underbody from exposure to water.

- It is less helpful if corrosion is already present.
- It works best on new cars.
