Underbody Coating
UNDERBODY COATING
In automobile industry, underbody coating is the process of coating the undercarriage surface uniformly with dense coat. In India cars need to have an additional care against the tough climate, road quality, terrains, and dust. Underbody coating prevents a vehicle undercarriage surface from corrosion and wear and tear. Indian weather and environment involve monsoon climate, humidity, muddy roads, potholes, stones, and debris everything leads to under-surface corrosion.

Types of underbody coating:
- Rubberized underbody coating
It is the best-known type of underbody coating. Rubberized underbody coating binds well with the material and prevents corrosion.
- Wax based underbody coating
Wax based coating is best for moisture resistant and prevention of corrosion due to humid climate. The disadvantage of this type coating is that coating will wear away after few months.
- Asphalt based automotive underbody coating
Asphalt based coating is best suited for heavy vehicles also it provides a better protection against corrosion compared to rubberized based coating. This coating takes time to complete the process.
- Poly Urethane underbody coating
This type of coating ensures complete coverage of protection against fractures and breaches.
Advantages of underbody coating
- Rust prevention
- Improved corrosion resistance
- Improved moisture resistance
- Improved resistance against wear and tear fractures
- Improved noise absorption
- Improved lifespan of car
- Improved car resale value
