AIM: The main aim of this model to find the relation between engine speed (RPM) vs Torque(Nm) Curve. Also here they have also designed BAJA ATV model with CVT.
ATV is ALL-TERRAIN VEHICLE which is designed by BAJAJ. So if we place CVT (i.e) Continuous Varial Transmission, we going to find the torque, Speed etc. Here we use Simscape and Simscape driveline to complete the model. Parts used in BAJA ATV is Engine, CVT & Vehicle body.
If the brake input =0, throtle input is 0.3 till 20 seconds and from 20 seconds input is ncreased from 0.3 to 1 as a step function. Then Velocity of vehicle is constant till 20 second from 20 second it increases linearlly (or) as ramp till its maximum velocity. Then it is constant as max Velocity.
Actually, We have grapical image of Speed vs torque curve , So to convert image into DATA POINTS, we will be using GRABIT. So after extraction we should pit all these values in Generic Engine Block.
CVT:
It consist of Primary pulley, Variator, Secondary pulley & Belt.
There are 2 conition on its working:
a) If primary pulley moves away then secondary pulley moves towards, so radius of primary < radius of secondary pulley, so speed reduces.
b) If secondary pulley moves away then primary pulley moves towards, so radius of primary > radius of secondary pulley, so speed overdrives.
Main purpose of Varitor is to Change the radius of pulley.
SIMSCAPE OF CVT:
It has input and output shaft inertia which are the primary and secondary pulleys. Also we should provide a gear ratio to it, so that we can specify the ratio. We also connect sensors to monitor the speed in RPM as well as Torque in Nm.
To connect CVT and Engine we use a simple gear ratio. So, in BAJA max speed is 3340 RPM.
VEHICLE BODY:
Data required for vehicle is Car Mass, No. of . Wheels/axles and also Drag. So to find the different speed of the vehicle with respect to mass , we go for Data Inspector. Data Inspector is tool where we can run multiple simulations. Once we log the data into it we can get velocity of vehicle at different masses.
There is dashboard which is used to control the throttle and brake, so that the speed and toque is controlled.
This the code required for lookup table that has to did in command window or workspace. It requires the data of Brake, Throttle, Vehicle body mass etc. So that speed, torque can be known.
